XTech Tactical Expands Magazine Extension Line for Sig Sauer Standard Frame P365 with 12rd to 15rd Kit

Sunday, January 7th, 2024

XTech Tactical announces the release of their newest offering for the Sig Sauer P365 standard grip module which converts the factory 12rd P365 9mm magazines to 15rds. The kit replaces all components of the factory magazine other than the steel magazine body.

The company is offering the kits as a single conversion kit or a three pack in honor of the Sig Sauer P365 Tac Pac which includes 3 12rd magazines.

“Due to the dramatically improved ergonomics and feel, the only complaint we have received from our MTX 365 customers is that our 10rd to 13rd magazine extensions have rendered their 12rd Sig Sauer magazines without a home.

We came up with the 12rd to 15rd kits of our MTX 365 to give good use for our customers who already owned 12rd factory magazines as extended back up magazines. Our way of giving thanks for all the support is by offering the 3-pack for the price of one OEM magazine”, stated Jeremy Deadman, Director of Sales and Marketing.

The MTX 365 12-15 shares the same external housing with the other XTech Tactical MTX 365 offerings, but has a specific custom engineered 17-7 extended spring, easy loading follower, magazine body spacer specific to the MTX 365 12-15.

The kits are now shipping and available at the below link as a single and 3 pack:

All components are 100% Manufactured and Designed in the US.

About the MTX 365:

With the MTX 365 installed, the user can easily maintain a complete grip on firearm, a full purchase of the palm area and a proper high grip on the pistol frame. The aesthetics of the extender match the P365 frame with a functional texture on the side panels for rapid extraction if needed.

The product uses both of the company’s now issued US utility patents for magazine extensions, US11408697B2 and US11168954B1.

The MTX© line up now includes options for:

GA-ASI Completes First Lifetime for Full-Scale Fatigues Test on MQ-9B

Friday, January 5th, 2024

SAN DIEGO – 03 January 2024 – On Dec. 5, 2023, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) completed a major milestone with the full-scale fatigue testing of an MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). The team completed the “first lifetime” of fatigue testing – which is equivalent to 40,000 operating hours – and represents an important step in validating the design of the airframe system. The testing is part of the aircraft certification to the NATO standard STANAG 4671, where the aircraft will be ultimately be tested through three lifetimes, thereby proving the 40,000 hour lifetime of the airframe.

The full-scale fatigue test simulates the aircraft’s design service through the application of repeated structural loading on the assembled airframe. The testing identifies any potential structural deficiencies ahead of fleet usage and assists in developing inspection and maintenance schedules for the airframe. The results of the test will be used as a part of the documentation for certification, as well as form the basis for in-service inspections of structural components.

MQ-9B is GA-ASI’s most advanced RPA and includes the SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® models, as well as the new Protector RG Mk 1 that is currently being delivered to the U.K. Royal Air Force.

“Full-scale fatigue testing is an integral part of validating the airframe design and a key input to the certification of the airframe prior to going into service,” said Chris Dusseault, Vice President of MQ-9B in Europe. “The completion of the fatigue test builds confidence for our MQ-9B customers that the SkyGuardian/SeaGuardian airframe meets the stringent design rigor and is a mature system at Entry into Service.”

The testing is the validation of years of design and analysis efforts. This is the first of three lifetimes of testing for the airframe. Two of the lifetimes simulate the operation of an aircraft under normal conditions, and the third lifetime has intentional damage inflicted on the airframe’s critical components to demonstrate its resistance to operational damage that may occur in the lifetime of the air vehicle.

Testing was conducted Dec. 13, 2022-Dec. 5, 2023, at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research in Wichita, Kan. The airframe tested is a production airframe purpose-built to support the test campaign.

“With a legacy of accuracy and reliability, and millions upon millions of rounds of proven performance, the P226 has earned its reputation as the premiere service pistol, and is the standard by which all other combat pistols are measured,” began Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, SIG SAUER, inc.  “To celebrate the rich military and law enforcement history of the P226, we will commemorate the 40th Anniversary with a special edition pistol and release a historical video series detailing the development and service of the P226.  We will also have an official declaration of February 26, 2024 as P226 Day, as well as programs and promotions throughout 2024.”

Popular Long-Range Riflescope Available with Deploy MOA Reticle

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – January 3, 2024 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, has released an MOA version of its popular, award-winning Match Pro ED 5-30X56 riflescope.

In stock and shipping now, the Match Pro ED MOA 5-30X56 has the same original features and high-quality glass that competitive shooters have come to rely on, plus it gives a blue-ribbon option to those who prefer to work in MOA adjustments instead of MRAD.

“We heard the requests loud and clear and knew it was time to bring out an MOA version of the Match Pro ED riflescope,” said Travis Overfelt, Engineer and Product Manager for Competition and Tactical Optics at Bushnell. “In doing so, we modified the reticle and turrets to accommodate MOA. The Deploy MOA 2 reticle has a theme like the Deploy MIL 2 reticle, but the turrets are in ¼ MOA clicks and the elevation turret has an extra row of numerals to help shooters keep track of their dial into the second revolution up from zero.”

With a class-leading magnification range, the Bushnell Match Pro ED MOA 5-30X56 has a 34mm main tube which gives room for 100 MOA in elevation adjustments and 50 MOA in windage adjustments. The Match Pro ED also boasts best-in-class optical performance with its ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Prime 56mm objective with Bushnell’s patented EXO Barrier coating for protection against the elements.

The glass-etched Deploy MOA 2 reticle is always visible and has 11 brightness settings, allowing the shooter to optimize the reticle for any light condition. The integral holdover tree lets a shooter instantly adjust point of aim without dialing, as well as allows for 68 up, 20 down and 34 MOA left or right. The riflescope also features a 6-hour auto-off illumination timer to increase battery life.

Because the reticle is etched in the first focal plane, the sub-tensions are always accurate regardless of the magnification setting. With a parallax adjustment down to just 15 yards, the Match Pro ED MOA 5-30X56 riflescope can get shooters on target at any range and is a versatile across any rifle platform whether rimfire, centerfire or air rifle.

Additional standard features included on the Match Pro ED include an integral Easy Set zero stop and 2-stage pop-up rev-indicator, a removable, 3-position power change lever plus a removable sunshade.

Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Joins Prestigious Congressional Initiative to Advance the Medical Service Dog Industry

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024

[WILLISTON, FL]- Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs has been selected as one of the two dozen medical service dog organizations nationwide to participate in a special initiative mandated by Congress. The primary objective of this program is to determine if the in-depth details outlined in this initiative for training and pairing service dogs meet the needs of permanently disabled service members and veterans.

This initiative, directed by Danny Benbassat, Ph.D., Commander, U.S. Public Health Service, CofS, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and managed by the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium OTA and acting Wounded Warrior Service Dog Program integrator Jeremy Ramirez, DrPH, MPH, Veteran, US Army, Assistant Professor of Health Informatics, California State University Long Beach Department of Health Care Administration, was created to maintain safety measures to protect service dogs and the public while using data-driven decisions to ensure continued improvement within one of the most vulnerable communities these organizations serve.

As a leading medical service dog organization with highly advanced programs and over a decade of experience, Guardian Angel Medical Service Dogs will work with other organizations like themselves to collect and share their best practices, which will then be used to refine and improve the prototype guidelines for future organizations when it comes time to train and pair assistance/service dogs with qualified service members and veterans.

“Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs is proud to have been selected for this crucial project. They have been a highly sophisticated leader in this industry for nearly 14 years, bringing forth many programs above and beyond the current industry standards, thus raising the bar of excellence with our milestones and benchmarks,” said Carol Borden, Founder and CEO of Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.

The current “prototype guidelines” will be tested by the Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs and other selected organizations where they can share best practices to refine existing guidelines, which will allow them to improve service dog programs. This initiative will evaluate the effectiveness of the suggested guidelines while examining a range of issues affecting service members and veterans with service dogs and those who train service dogs.

Once each organization has gathered empirical data on each of the protocols in this program, they will participate in focus group meetings for further discussion and analysis that will help build future guidelines and best practices related to the quality-of-service dog training, the optimal education and matching of service dogs with service members and veterans, and the safety to canines, service members, and the public.

“Our goal is to further shape the future of this life-changing, life-saving industry that deserves much more clarity and respect for the work these amazing dogs do every day. With this valuable opportunity to assist Congress, we will accomplish another enormous milestone in moving the service dog industry forward,” said Borden.

When the study concludes, the findings will be presented to Congress. Currently, it can take 2-10 years for someone to get a service dog. With the additional funding, Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs will be able to hire more people and enlarge their facilities, which means they will be able to pair more dogs more quickly with veterans and service members in need.
