Jury Awards Adcor Defense, Inc $20 Million in Suit Against Beretta, USA, Inc

Thursday, December 13th, 2018

We are pleased to announce that a Baltimore County jury today rendered a 20 million dollar verdict in a commercial litigation matter, Adcor Defense, Inc. v Beretta, USA, Inc.  The matter in dispute was the defendant’s willful misappropriation of Adcor’s cutting edge design of a modern AR-15 rifle.  Adcor is a local Baltimore City aerospace manufacturing company.  In 2008, Adcor undertook the redesign of the common AR-15 rifle in an effort to better improve the weapon to benefit our troops overseas.  Beretta USA engaged Adcor with a promise to co-develop Adcor’s outstanding developments in the AR-15.  Beretta, USA, is a subsidiary of Beretta Holdings, the oldest and one of largest and most successful firearms manufacturers in the world.  Beretta signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement promising to keep all of Adcor’s information confidential and not to keep, use or disseminate it.  At trial, it was proven that Beretta intentionally schemed to misappropriate all of Adcor’s innovative technology and never intended to abide by the Non-Disclosure Agreement.  The Jury found that Beretta willfully violated the Non-Disclosure Agreement and took and used Adcor’s innovative technology for its own benefit and for the benefit of its sister companies.  The case was tried by Briggs Bedigian, Jon Stefanuca and Lauren Bell of Gilman and Bedigian, LLC, a local law firm located in Timonium, as well as Thomas Donnelly and Kristin Tracy of The Law Offices of Thomas Donnelly, LLC, located in Baltimore City.    Beretta, USA, was represented by attorneys from the national law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP, led by T. Sky Woodward of the Washington, DC office.

Whiskey 5 – Service Dogs For Those Who Served

WHO:

SERVICE DOGS FOR THOSE WHO SERVED

A 501c3 NONPROFIT

Hero Labradors is a Disabled-Veteran owned 501c3 organization founded by Major Charles (Chuck) W. Ziegenfuss, US Army, retired.

We are producing QUALITY, genetically sound, AKC registered Labradors with AKC Champion bloodlines. We select, raise, and breed our girls (and one boy) to produce very high quality pups. We select service dog training programs worthy of our dogs–and we give these dogs to them, free of charge, with only their guarantee that they train them and donate them to either a disabled veteran, wounded warrior, or first responder (or their family members) who need them. It costs training programs NOTHING to receive one of our pups. Hero Labradors has zero paid employees; we are all volunteers. Hero Labradors provides for the breeding, selection, healthcare, and transportation of these dogs to their training programs, requiring NOTHING from the trainers nor recipients.

Service Dogs for those who’ve served.

WHAT:

Hero Labradors’ mission is to breed and select Labrador Retrievers of the highest quality, possessing the aptitude for service dog training, and to provide these dogs at no cost to service dog training programs. We work with selected programs who, in turn, agree to train and provide these dogs at no cost to disabled American veterans, their families, the Military Community and First Responders.

WHEN:

Hero Labradors was created in December, 2016 after years of Major Ziegenfuss’ experiences with his own service dogs.

WHERE:

Hero labradors is located in Decatur, TX and can be contacted on the following platforms:

WHY:

On June 21st, 2005 Chuck Ziegenfuss was wounded by a roadside bomb while on a foot patrol in Baqubah, Iraq. He lost part of his left hand, full use of both hands, his eardrums, and large patches of skin on his legs and arms. Like many, he spent many months in the hospital trying to get well enough to return to duty, which he eventually did. In 2006 his wife bought him a Labrador, named Major after his recent promotion. Major found his own ways of taking care of Chuck, sensing his needs and became, most accidentally, his first service dog. Ziegenfuss went on to serve an additional 10 years, retiring in January 2015. Major was followed by Halia and eventually the rest of our canine family. This was the genesis for Hero Labradors.

The PRO XD line from Polaris offers three diesel-powered models built to withstand the tough duty cycles and usage on the worksite, boasting industry-leading payload and towing capabilities and unmatched durability, serviceability and safety tailored to the commercial working customer.
“Polaris Commercial is lazer-focused on delivering best-in-class capability, durability, serviceability, and safety to drive increased productivity for commercial work needs, missions, and markets. We listened, learned, and leveraged our nearly 65 years in this business and now we’re delivering the absolute best new UTV optimized for work,” said John Olson, vice president and general manager of Polaris Commercial. “These new vehicles will deliver huge value to our hard-working customers in the rental, construction, commercial and government sectors.”

The PRO XD provides industry leading payload of 1,930 lbs, towing of 2,500 lbs, and world-class mobility that’s expected from a world leader like Polaris. Extensive research with rental, government and construction industry leaders showed that customer productivity and profitability in work environments who use UTVs are driven by vehicle durability, serviceability and safety — which is exactly what the PRO XD provides. The vehicle models are the two-passenger PRO XD 2000D, which is available in either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the four-passenger PRO XD 4000D available in all-wheel drive.

“Our expansive commercial and military customer base operate Polaris vehicles in the harshest environments around the world,” said Sean Cheatham, vice president of product development, strategy, and marketing at Polaris Commercial. “And we have incorporated their feedback into the development of the PRO XD.”

DURABILITY
The Polaris PRO XD is engineered with industry-leading, long-lasting and robust components. Durability drives productivity and profitability by decreasing downtime, lowering the cost of replacement parts, and reducing maintenance labor.
– Kubota industrial diesel engine
– All-new rigid chassis design for industry-leading payload and towing capacities
– Rust-free and dent-resistant composite bed, large enough to fit a full-size pallet
– Heavy-duty, sealed driveline components to increase resistance from corrosive conditions

SERVICEABILITY
The ability to easily identify issues and conduct simple service tasks on a vehicle at the jobsite is critical to keeping the machine running efficiently and delivering a better return on investment. The Polaris PRO XD is designed to increase vehicle lifespan and optimize uptime.
– Engine maintenance intervals doubled to 200 hours — Polaris is the only vehicle brand to offer this standard on a diesel UTV — the result is less time and money spent on oil changes and extended use time
– Improved vehicle fault alarms to notify users of potential issues that could cause serious damage to the vehicle. Alarms include low oil pressure, parking brake engagement, belt burn, and engine overheat
– Relocated dipstick and air filter for easiest service maintenance through side access without the need to raise the bed
– Front air intake for clean air ingestion, improved air filter life, consistent engine power and durability
– Two-seat, two-wheel drive offering for driveline service simplicity
– Polaris PULSETM Connector simplifies the process of adding electronic accessories like lights and radios to the vehicle’s power source, simplifying accessory installation and enhancing upfit possibilities

SAFETY
Safety is a major focus on jobsites to prevent losses and enhance effectiveness. Reducing accidents and injuries, avoiding mishaps, and enhancing situational awareness are key focus areas for our Polaris Commercial customers. That’s why the Polaris PRO XD incorporates safety features to stay at the forefront of jobsite compliance.
– Industry-first orange seat belts and vehicle decals to improve vehicle visibility to surrounding workers and jobsite supervisors
– Backup alarm, horn and parking brake standard
– Vehicle starts only in Park with brake enabled

– Engine Braking System (EBS) for slow decent down hills
– Fully sealed cab to prevent dust ingestion. This also makes the cab quieter thereby reducting noise hazards and fatigue.

Produced in Polaris’ state-of-the-art Huntsville, Alabama manufacturing facility, the PRO XD work vehicle is engineered to handle any construction jobsite, commercial work environment or government application, including operations and maintenance support, personnel transport, and emergency response. The Polaris PRO XD is sold and supported as part of the Polaris Commercial and Polaris Government & Defense portfolio of brands and encourages customization solution requests for improving work and mission productivity and safety at jobsites around the world.

Insulating, Highly Breathable, High Loft Polartec Mid-Layer, Built in the USA

Prometheus Design Werx introduces the Beast Hoodie this Fall-Winter 2018. Made with technical, high loft Polartec ThermalPro fleece, this style traps body heat when worn under a shell and breathes exceptionally well when worn on its own during active field use. The Beast Hoodie features 4 zippered exterior pockets, 4 dummy cords, 2, laser cut loop panels on the sleeves, ports for media cables, double reinforced elbows in Guide Cloth, structured draft resistant thumbhole cuffs, and M.L. hood with A.C. bill. The high loft ThermalPro possesses a distinct signature, legacy appearance that harkens back to the original, performance fleece pile alpine jackets from the late 70s-early80s. Exceptionally comfortable, soft, versatile with a highly distinct appearance. Built in USA.

The Beast Hoodie is a part of their Made in USA CORE-Line of products by Prometheus Design Werx. Available in Wilding Gray and Darker Earth.

The Design and R&D Team at PDW states:

“Our Chief Designer has been a fan of this style technical fleece for well over a decade and has been designing with this unique performance textile for as long. In many ways, this Polartec ThermalPro has its DNA in the original pile fleece jackets made for alpinists and mountaineers at the dawn of modern outdoor apparel age where synthetic textiles were introduced into the market. Much like animal fur the high loft properties of this fleece traps body heat to insulate. One of the more notable properties of this fleece is that it breathes exceptionally well to help regulate overheating when the wearer is engaged in high energy, active pursuits such as rock climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, and cold weather hiking. Our proven 4-way stretch Guide Cloth reinforcements are well matched for the range of movement characteristic of this fleece, which is higher than other typical poly fleeces being used in backcountry mid-layers. The design features easily satisfy backcountry EDC with signature, functional details PDW is well known for. Versatility, usefulness in a wide range or cool to cold weather conditions, freedom of movement, and a distinct and unique appearance makes this performance mid-layer a standout for those who make their own way, blaze their own trails, and when they need to, crank it up into beast mode. These jackets are made in our home state of California using US.”

The Beast Hoodie will be available in both colors for purchase on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at 12:00pm PT via their website, prometheusdesignwerx.com.
