SOFIC 18 – Scalable Offensive Hand Grenade by Nammo

Thursday, May 24th, 2018

In our USSOCOM Small Arms Modernization Update post a few weeks ago you may have noticed a slide depicting the Scalable Offensive Hand Grenade.

This concussion grenade is made by Nammo and consists of up to three modules and traditional spoon-style initiator which can combined to offer the desired effect.

Effects, it has aplenty. To visualize what this hand grenade offers, think about a small wooden shed that you’d buy at Home Depot. If you use just one module, you’ll blow the door open and the windows out. Select two modules and you’ll knock the shed off its foundation. But screw on all three sections and the real magic happens; you’ll transform the shed into splinters.

SOFIC 18 – KAC M-LOK Barricade Brace

Thursday, May 24th, 2018

Knight’s showed us this M-LOK Barricade Brace. It’s pretty straight forward, doing exactly what the name implies. It does give a little bit of offset from the rail and I do have to say that the teeth are very aggressive.

I am an unrepentant dog lover, even Maligators, so when I saw the Trident K9 Tactical Helmet by K9 Helms, I had to stop and take a look.

A. The main shell is a single piece of super-tough, 3D printed nylon. It features complex curves and details that are finely tuned for performance and durability.

B. ANSI rated, UV400 eye protection is easy to install and remove, yet stays firmly in place. Independent, spherical lenses are canted to each side to maximize the dog’s peripheral vision.

C. Left and right side retention plates squeeze inward with strap tension, providing cushy-yet-firm clamping force.

D. Thick rubber strap is reversible for use by right or left handed humans.

E. 2-position rail can be used to mount a variety of devices, or it can be removed altogether in favor of cameras like the MOHOC, which may be attached directly to the helmet surface.

F. Flexible rear brace meets the neck and terminates in a flared beaver tail, stabilizing the helmet during sudden changes to head and neck angles.

G. Secured with Velcro, the multi-panel foam padding is easily replaced and made in 3 sizes to achieve the best possible fit.

H. Captive strap guides and shielded button stud provide a secure closure that’s fast and easy to operate.

I. Removable fasteners facilitate easy disassembly. Replaceable parts allow for many rebuilds — extending the unit’s service life.

The helmet is still in the development phase, but should be released late this year.

SOFIC 18 – Rajuga Camouflage System by TYR Tactical

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018

TYR Tactical has partnered with Israeli company Polaris Solutions to introduce the Rajuga concealment system to the US market.

Underneath this 3D, multispectral concealment net is a Polaris quad. The system is reversible, with different visual camoufiage patterns printed on either side of the Thermal Visual Concealment panel. The material also provides protection in the IR spectrum. Additionally, the TVC material offers sun, rain and wind protection and is bery lightweight at .7kg per sq m. It folds or rolls flat for transport and can be individually configured to mimic local terrain, offering a very effective 3D effect which sensors or observors can be concealed under.

It’s available in multiple configurations, including this sensor concealment.

Rajuga concealment systems are available to unit and agency customers from ADS Inc.
