TYR Tactical – Tactical Uniform Belt, G-Hook Variant

Monday, May 9th, 2016

During last week’s Warrior West Range Day, I got a chance to check out TYR Tactical’s mobile showroom.  I was kind of like Yoda going through Luke’s gear on Degobah and I ran across this new belt.  The Tactical Unifom Belt is a low profile design, meant for keeping your pants up.  Made from padded softshell material, this variant incorporates a G-hook closure at the front.  It’s easy to adjust and get through your belt loops.

Belleville – Exodus 451

Monday, May 9th, 2016

During last week’s Warrior West I got to check out a new hot weather boot from Belleville. The Exodus 451 incorporates Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Technology.

This new construction is radically different than what you are used to with Gore-Tex lined boots. In the past, they used a bootie shaped liner that was sewn into the boot. With Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Technology, the membrane is laminated directly to the boot’s outer material, mimicking the construction of outerwear. The result is a boot that is lighter, cooler to the foot in hot weather, and more breathable.

Initially, the Exodus 451 is offered in Black, but a Coyote version is on the way.

Warrior West – Norotos Universal Shroud-Light

Friday, May 6th, 2016

This is an update to the Norotos Universal Shroud-Light, which offers integrated light.

There are two banks of LEDs which consists of four White LEDs, two Red LEDs and two IR emitters. The user can choose between each color and IR as well as intensity from 4% to 100%. Additionally, the IR mode offers constant on or strobe. The shroud uses a single AA which will run the device for up to 14 hours.

A cool feature that Norotos has integrated into the design is that there is a small Red LED on the bottom of the shroud that shines while the IR mode is engaged so you will know it is on. The light is only visibie to the user.

Warrior Expo – DRIFIRE Search and Rescue Board Short

Friday, May 6th, 2016

I know we’ve talked about these FR Board Shorts from Drifire in the past but they’ve finally received NAVAIR approval.

I imagine you’re scratching your head over FR shorts but there’s a good reason. They were designed as a short that Rescue Swimmers coukd wear under their Drysuits and that’s why they are FR.

They are made from a 7 oz fabric with drirelease moisture wicking and odor control treatment. The shorts have a Velcro closure at the waist with adjustable waistband. There are also two bellowed cargo pockets with drainage holes.

Warrior West – Gerber Custom Fit Sheath

Friday, May 6th, 2016

The Gerber Custom Fit Sheath is an adaptive sheath system that will accommodate a wide variety of items as well as carry methods. The pouches are adjustable for height and width as well as retention. This is because it uses a combination of elastic and Velcro. One of the key features of the Custom Fit Sheath is the unidirectional Velcro which is called Quiet Deploy Velcro. You can adjust the height of the flap and tightness of the retention at the rear of the pouch.

It is available in both Dual and Quad versions. The Quad model is shown here amd it’s called a quad becuase each side has two slots, one in front of the other. This allows for a light and a knife, for example.

The pouch is fully PALS compliant but can also be attached to traditional belts.

Additionally, while these are made overseas, fully Berry compliant versions in Coyote are on their way.

Warrior Expo – Juggernaut Case

Friday, May 6th, 2016

Juggernaut Case has a whole slew of new products. Today, we’ll discuss several of them.  Clockwise from the top we have the User Removable Cable Assembly, HAHO-L Accessory, and the Radio Universal Custom Kit.

User Removable Cable Assembly

The allows the user to acquire cases and cables separately, facilitates quick cable replacement and allows users to swap between a cable and a fully sealed door.  When Juggernaut tweaked the case for this new cable, they made it so you can still use the standard cable that comes with the phone.

HAHO-L Accessory

The HAHO-L is an add-on accessory to add MFF electronic navigation equipment to any 5 or 6 series armor mount. It is a low profile alternative to more traditional, full size Nav Boards.

Radio Universal Custom Kit

The RUCK is an amazing new chassis technology that allows a direct gold-dot connection to an S series case. The RUCK is fully customizable and can carry a wide of array of payloads such as radio cards, storage devices, heaters and extended batteries. Additionally, it snaps right into any of Juggernaut’s different mounts like the RAM vehicle, Forearm or PALS compatible Armor mount. I think it’s going to change how we look at and use these devices.  When used to its full potential, RUCK will eliminate many cables and redundant radios as well as extend the operational capabilities of the device.
