Griffin Armaments – Micro Modular Sights (M2 Sights)

Friday, November 25th, 2016

1

Griffin Armaments’ Micro Modular Sights are, as the name implies, low-profile and modular rifle iron sights. The sights, thanks to a patent pending interchangeable mounting plate, allows the sights to be configured either in a traditional vertical mount, or in an angle mount.

3

“We have owned almost every sight set there is, and there really wasn’t a do it all product, especially since we’re running a lot of offsets on our personal rigs.” -Austin stated, Lead engineer and primary owner of Griffin. He went on to state, “ Often times we found ourselves running sights for a while swapping out to something else, reverting back, etc depending on what we were doing with the firearm.”

“Ambidextrous feature functionality was important to us as well. Often time’s lefties are left out in the cold without good product support, especially in this category. Making the set ambidextrous for angle application ensures that these sites are applicable to any shooter with a Picatinny rail to support it,” Austin stated in detail. “We also thought that supporting the A2 post was pretty critical to customer satisfaction. The A2 is the 1911 of front sights; It has a lot of aftermarket options and we wanted to ensure that customers could use those options.”

  • 17-4 stainless steel and Ordnance Grade steel
  • Melonite QPQ treated
  • Low drag slotted windage screw
  • A2 sight tower supports A2 posts
  • Patent Pending modular base plate system
  • Scant 2.5oz system weight

VZ Grips Releases First Ever One-Piece G-10 AR Grip

    Sunday, November 6th, 2016

Punisher Grips. Hero shots Gemtech suppressor, VZ Grips

November 7th, 2016: VZ Weapon Solutions (A VZ Grips Company) is proud to announce its newest revolutionary product; The VZ AR Grip (ARG). The ARG’s are precision machined, and textured G-10 AR pistol grips designed to work with every AR variant currently available in the market. The ARG’s are precision machined out of one solid piece of G-10 laminate (A first ever!). The end result is a “rock solid” & controlled grip.

With innovation and function as their leading edge, VZ did not rest on its laurels by merely matching their popular patterns to an AR pistol grip. VZ re-designed the ARG from the ground up. The grip angle on the ARG was adjusted to a 17 degree angle to prevent grip fatigue and allow the shooter maneuverability around tight spaces. The ARG also comes in two sizes to accommodate every shooters needs, a standard and “Shorty” version are available.

“We hope to continue to offer folk’s products that they can depend on day in, and day out.”, “VZ Weapon Solutions is more than just a side project for us, it’s our way of showing the newer generation of shooters that we are looking out for them too.” -John VanZyck (VZ Grips Owner).

Color options will eventually be a myriad of patterns/ colors to match all of their existing gun grips. For now the first available patterns will be: Alien, Frag, Recon, Diamond Slant, and Operator 2. MSRP starts at $95.00 for Standard, and Shorty grips.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – 1911 Magazine Base Pad

    Friday, November 4th, 2016

This week’s Friday Focus covers something completely different from FirstSpear. If you haven’t figured it out yet, FirstSpear loves the M1911A1. They’ve introduced this FirstSpear 1911 Magazine Base Pad and Chip McCormick 1911 Magazine combo. That’s right; the base pad comes installed on a Chip McCormick magazine.

It’s made from Aluminum and gives the base pad a little weight so magazines will free fall easily during a speed reload. The pad also features a hard anodized finish. Additionally, there are grips enhancements on bottom of the base pad to assist in firmly locking the magazine in place and the toe of Base Pad is dished out to aid in removal of a difficult magazine.

You’ll notice that the middle groove is quite pronounced. This accommodates the FirstSpear bungee cord speed tab.

Currently available for 1911 series pistols, look for more models to follow.
