ARES Defense Announces Belt-Fed MCR Lite At NASGW

MELBOURNE, FL, October 30, 2015 ARES Defense Systems, the country’s leading manufacturer of innovative, mission-configurable firearms, parts and accessories announced the introduction of its belt-fed MCR Lite at NASGW in New Orleans. The MCR Lite is an upper receiver assembly that fits standard AR15/M4 lower receivers and just like the full-featured MCR (Mission Configurable Rifle) upper receivers, it features gas-piston operation, a true (3 second) quick-change barrel assembly and the ability to feed from M27 linked ammunition belts or standard AR magazines at the shooter’s discretion.

The primary differences between the MCR and the MCR Lite is that the Lite model has a fixed gas port, aluminum feed tray, round feed roller housing and lighter barrel than the MCR. Available for immediate shipment by ARES Defense and also being carried by distributors AMCHAR, RSR and others, the MCR Lite carries an MSRP price tag of $2,995.

‘SALT – A Safe Gun For A Safe Home’ On Indiegogo

SALT is a project on Indiegogo for a non-lethal home defense weapon. Similar to a gas-powered airsoft pistol or paintball marker, SALT utilizes compressed air and fires pellets filled with a proprietary irritant designed to temporarily disable any would-be assailants. The rounds, which travel at 320 feet per second, are designed to produce a cloud of irritant 4 to 5 feet in diameter. Also, it features an underbarrel rail, so there’s always the option to attach a laser or light.

Wife of American Sniper Takes on World-Renowned Shooting Champion for $1 Million to Benefit Chris Kyle Frog Foundation

Mason, Texas (October 27, 2015) – Billed as the shootout of the century, Taya Kyle will use TrackingPoint’s Precision-Guided Firearms to take on a world-renowned champion shooter in the inaugural American Sniper Shootout. If the champ wins against Taya and the TrackingPoint system, he will take home the $ 1 million prize.

The landmark event is set for Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 in Mason, Texas, with proceeds benefiting the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. Sponsors are already planning to make the American Sniper Shootout an annual event.

The American Sniper Shootout is the first of its kind to pit a novice shooter armed with the TrackingPoint system against the best in the world in a head-to-head competition featuring the types of shots routinely encountered by soldiers in battle. TrackingPoint’s Precision-Guided Firearms instantly transform inexperienced shooters into world-class marksmen, and the competition will validate the claim, staking $1 million on Taya out-shooting the champion.

The day-long event in Mason is open to the public and includes a music festival featuring the Scooter Brown Band and their hard-driving country from warriors who served our country; and Donica Knight, a rising country star with pure southern style.
