Black Rifle Coffee Company Opens Tennessee Roasting Facility

For Immediate Release – SAN ANTONIO – Veteran-owned and operated Black Rifle Coffee Company is proud to announce the opening of its Manchester, Tennessee, roasting facility as part of the company’s $6 million investment in that state. Combined with their Utah facility, the Tennessee plant will ensure that consumers all over America receive the freshest coffee available, roasted to order and delivered right to their door.

“As our company grows, so does our need to be close to our customers,” said Evan Hafer, the CEO and founder of Black Rifle Coffee Company. “Opening the roasting facility in Tennessee gives us the ability to deliver the highest-quality product to the entire eastern half of the United States in the most cost-efficient and timely manner possible.”

The Manchester facility is expected to create 52 jobs over the next five years, and since Black Rifle Coffee Company is committed to hiring 10,000 veterans as the business expands, qualified veterans living in Tennessee will have first consideration for any open positions. As a further commitment to former service members, the company will give preference to veteran-owned businesses as they bring on new vendors and suppliers.

Black Rifle Coffee Company is hosting a grand opening event on August 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at the new facility located at 621 Park Tower Road in Manchester. This event is open to the public and will include a ribbon cutting with words from Evan Hafer, Mat Best, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe; a tour, food, entertainment, and lots of fresh-roasted coffee will follow!

Sneak Peek – Handl Defense Submission for US Army Sub Compact Weapon Oportunity

This is the Handl Defense submission for the US Army’s SCW Prototype Opportunity Notice. The US Army is giving up to six companies the chance to build a highly concealable Sub Compact Weapon system capable of engaging threat personnel with a high volume of lethal force while accurately firing at close range with minimal collateral damage. The weapon should be optimized for shooting 147 grain 9mm.

The Handl Defense SCW is under 15 inches when folded and weighs under 7 pounds. It can be easily stowed in an aviators kit bag, briefcase, or in vehicles.

The Handl Defense SCW weapon system allows for use of readily available 9mm pistol magazines. The Handl Defense SCW could be configured to unit organic pistol magazines. This would allow for lower cost implementation and the ability to share magazines under duress.

A Sig Sauer P320 conversion kit is under going development, and will be made available to DoD on their request. This would allow interoperability with the M17 pistol. Allowing cost benefits by minimizing proprietary system components.

This system leverages existing programs and their supply chains to provide unprecedented flexibility to DoD. Intended as a complete weapon, or if DoD chooses, as a removable conversion kit for M4s in the inventory. The end user can select a highly portable folding stock 5.55x45mm configuration with a donor M4 platform.

9mm ConfigurationThe Army’s requirement that the SCW is because the United States military operations take place worldwide and in all types of terrains as well as under every environmental condition. The Secretary of the Army and/or the Chief of Staff approves senior commanders and key personnel as High Risk Personnel (HRP). HRPs are authorized a Personal Security Detail (PSD), which are assigned to guard against outlined threats. To address this operational need, PSD military personnel require weapons with greater lethality than pistols that are more concealable than rifles. The ultimate objective of this program is to acquire a highly concealable Sub Compact Weapon (SCW) system capable of engaging threat personnel with a high volume of lethal force while accurately firing at close range with minimal collateral damage.

NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits Named Nation’s Fastest-Growing Association Show

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trade Show News Network has recognized the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits as 2018’s Fastest Growing Association Show in the U.S., presenting the honor at the TSNN Awards Aug. 11 in Louisville, Kentucky.
