May 21st, 2016The Hammock Seat from Deadringer Hunting looks like it might be a great companion for your next field problem. Oftentimes I’ve been out in the woods and there’s nowhere to sit but on the ground. That’s great unless it’s cold or wet. Then, I like to get my butt up off of the ground.
The top Hammock Seat wraps around a tree and there’s a simple pole at the bottom that wedges against the base of the tree. This allows the seat fabric to work like a hammock. The Hammock Seat weighs in at 1 lbs, 11 oz and is available in multiple colors.

NRA – Core Defender Belly Band Holster from Elite Survival Systems

Although they fell out of favor, Belly Bands have been making a come back, particularly for use with rifle magazines, radios and survival gear. It’s a simple design, made from orthopedic ergonomic elastic with no latex content and a Velcro front closure and can be worn beneath outer garments. In addition to sewn in channels for handguns on either side there are three magazine size pouch openings at the rear. Made in the USA and offered in Black or Coyote.
NRA – Sneak Peek of Grey Ghost Gear Banshee Battle Belt

Grey Ghost’s upcoming Banshee Battle Belt is a two belt system consisting of an outer load carrying belt which features PALS channels and an AustriAlpin buckle as well as a padded inner trouser belt with a simple D ring style buckle with a strap that Velcros back on itself. The two connect when used together via Velcro. This one is Grey but I’d imagine they’ll have all kinds of cool colors and patterns available as well as different sizes.

NRA – Colt Classic Reproduction Military ARs
May 21st, 2016This is the coolest thing I’ve seen at the show. Colt Classic plans to release a new line of reproduction AR-style, military issue firearms. The first two are the Model 02 and XM177E1. Other, similar reproductions have been offered but these are genuine Colt, using original examples as pattern guns to ensure accuracy.
I spoke briefly with the folks working in this project and it’s truly a labor of love, recreating these limited edition firearms. There’s a whole lineup planned including the Shorty Commando, GAU-5A/A and others. I can’t wait to see these hit the market, considering an original Commando will run in the tens of thousands of Dollars.
