US Tactical Supply is displaying their extensive wares for Sniper use. In addition to the excellent HOG and PiG Saddles by ShadowTech, the rifle they had mounted caught my eye.
It’s the Remington Accessory Chassis System (RACS) and this setup is similar to the XM2010 and PSR submissions. They dropped a 700 action in with a Marine issue Krieger barrel, and issue S&B scope 3-12 x 50 with gen 2 reticle and Badger Ordnance rings. They’ve also added the Tenebraex polarizer and kill flash on the scope. There is also a AI box mag.
KRISS group has announced a new airsoft and training brand called KRYTAC. It looks to be an interesting training option, given they’ll be offering airsoft, non-lethal, and .22 caliber rimfire arms.
Known worldwide for the most-innovative, iconic new firearm design in the past 80 years, the KRISS Vector has quickly made its parent company not only internationally famous as a firearm manufacture, but also as an industry brand innovator. And, in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening following Day One of SHOT Show 2014, Kriss Group SA held an invitation-only event to mark the soft-launch of a new brand targeting the recreational shooting, professional training and airsoft markets. Named KRYTAC, the brand will be rolling out new airsoft, non-lethal training and .22 caliber rimfire arms starting in Q2 of 2014, with an official launch and product reveal expected at the IWA show in Germany this spring. The first electric airsoft prototypes revealed show 5 models in the initial line, with licensed products by LWRC coming later in the year.
KRYTAC’s synergy within the industry come from veteran staff brought together from across the US and world airsoft industry, as well as the KRISS SA and KRISS USA design and branding team responsible for the new venture and future product lines.

Under Armour has completely resigned the Valsetz boot from top to bottom and call it the Valsetz RTS (Redesigned Tactical Shoe).
The tread has been changed and the instep has been upgraded for Fast rope operations. The replaced the stitching in the upper with a welded reinforcement. Additionally, the entire shoe is DWR coated. The top incorporates the Clutch Fit technology from their football shoes. This fit works much like taped ankles without the additional weight.
All told, it’s 2 ounces lighter than the precious model. The Valsetz will continue to be available for some time, but the RTS models are coming July 2014 from ww.underarmour.com in Tan, Black and Coyote.
The Batteryclip is so cool I wanted to drop it in the middle of our SHOT show coverage. Offered in AA, CR123A and 9v sizes, they load just like a regular weapon magazine and offer innovative battery management.
The 9v model accommodates 10 batteries and the other 2 hold 8 each. Just like a pistol magazine there are indicator holes at the rear.
The interesting thing is that they weren’t inspired by gun magazines at all but rather were developed simply as a solution for batteries rolling around in bags and pockets.
The Batteryclip is available through Bottom Line Military Sales for individual or GSA purchases.
I’m walking along minding my own business at SHOT Show when I run smack into the NRA booth. And when I look up, what do I see but a Hodge Defense AU Mod 1.
Not too shabby….
I’m going to tell you about several items from S&S Precision that were debuted at SHOT Show to the public for the first time.
First off is the Skeletonized Magazine Retention or SMR. Although we have you an initial glimpse of it in September, this is the first time it’s been out in the wild for everyone to see and this also marks its final form. Naturally, this also means they are transitioning it into production.
The SMR which is the actual magazine holder itself is used conjunction with the BasePlate aka “The Docking Station” that serves the platform to mount to. Additionally, there are belt hanger adapters (seen below) and MOLLE adapters.
Next up we have two items. The first is seen to the right, which is the Manta Webbing Adapter or MWA and the other is the Pocket Shiv, to the left.
The MWA is a simple, yet dedicated means to mount a Manta strobe to PALS webbing or other standard webbing.
The Pocket Shiv started out as an internal project at S&S Precision by employees looking for a small, dedicated cutter. The decision was made to make it bad ass and the rest is history. The 440C blade’s design is based on utility use and features an over molded rubber grip. The sheathed also incorporates over molded rubber as well as a one-piece webbing adapter.
Samples are Toad Vine, Yellow, and Black.
Finally, it’s the SKH or Silent Killer Holster which as you can see was designed for use with a suppressor equipped pistol. Its open face holster design offers one handed operation via a simple button and a short draw. It also means a relatively simple reholster.
