Here we see one of B5 Systems’ new SOPMOD Bravo stocks in dipped in AOR 1 (bottom). There is also a SOPMOD stock in AOR 2 (top). They tell us that production models will feature dipped adjustment levers as well. The SOPMOD Bravo is featured on The Jack carbine, just unveiled by HSP and Bravo Company USA.

Bravo Company Joins Forces with Haley Strategic Partners to Introduce The Jack Carbine

Monday, December 10th, 2012

Bravo Company has joined forces with Haley Strategic Partners to produce The Jack, as in “Jack of all Trades.” The technologies integrated into this carbine build are impressive, to say the least.

Built on a Bravo Company lower and upper, the 5.56mm carbine relies on BCM’s 14.5″ Government Profile Barrel (and mid-length gas system) with a permanent mounting of the brand new BCMGUNFIGHTER Compensator making it a 16″ Civilian Legal Barrel. This is paired with the excellent Geissele Super Modular Rail mounted with a BCM Diopter Front Folding Battle Sight and Rear Folding Battle Sight.

HSP also specified the ALG Defense ACT Trigger which gives you a Geissele quality trigger in a US GI package as well as the newly debuted B5 Systems SOPMOD Bravo Stock mounted to a Bravo Company receiver extension. The Jack also includes a BCM GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle and Mod I Pistol Grip. Weighing in at 6 lbs 11 oz (with light, mount and irons), The Jack incorporates the Inforce WML-HSP (Momentary Only White Light Black Body) mounted to a Haley Strategic Thorntail Offset Light Mount built by Impact Weapons Components right out of the box. All of this topped off with a custom Disruptive Grey tone Cerakote finish by Joint Force Enterprises. This gun is ready to go as soon as you pick it up from the FFL. The only thing you will want to do to upgrade The Jack is to add an optic of your choice.

TheJack

I am continually impressed at the quality of BCM guns and the number of products that are debuting on The Jack is a testament to the hard work that Haley Strategic Partners put into working with their industry affiliates to make this a reality.

Dipped Stock Ideas from B5

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

20121101-131755.jpg

Folks have been giving their weapon accessories camouflage hydrographic treatments for some time but recently we’ve seen some interesting graphics showing up.

For example, this enhanced SOPMOD stock from B5 Systems sports a Halloween themed graphic. We’ve also seen others with American flag motifs. Considering Gun Culture 2.0 and that not all small arms are being used as working as working guns, we expect to see a lot more of this in the future. I can tell you that Tactical Mama saw this and got to thinking about doing some upgrades to her new .300 carbine. Pink’s just not her thing.

Haley Strategic Partners – Disruptive Industries Day Three

Thursday, June 14th, 2012

Disruptive Industries is a unique, invitation-only event bringing together industry, military, and law enforcement. It is designed to teach, inspire, build relationships, open communications and create new channels for innovation in the defense sector. Every experience has been devised to accomplish each of these tasks in one way or another, from training classes to meals as well as other organized social events.

We’ve already experienced two days of shooting, physical conditioning, and associated tactical training. Oddly enough, day 3 kicked off much like day 2, with another ass kicking from former Russian Spetznaz operator Saulius “Sonny” Puzikas. Except, this time, he really did kick our asses. During the various demonstrations of Systema hand to hand, pretty much every one of us got a chance to take a blow or two from Sonny. Naturally, we got to knock each other around a little as well. The training was no nonsense and focused on staying out of a grapple and incapacitating your aggressor. All in all, it was fantastic.

Next up were classes on surreptitious entry and restraint escape by Bryan Black of ITS Tactical. After lunch we ran through various room clearing drills. Scenarios focused on PSD work but the lessons could be applied to multiple scenarios.

As I mentioned earlier, D1 is very much about fostering innovation and relationships. One of the best things about Disruptive Industries is the opportunity to network and cross-talk. This includes all participants. Everyone has learned from our esteemed instructors and I’d hazard to guess that they have picked up a few things from us as well. Additionally, Mil and LE have been able to compare notes and share experiences with each other as well as interact with the industry reps. For the industry folks, this experience has been invaluable. In some cases, different companies have been able to discuss collaborations and, in every case, industry has gained knowledge from the interaction with military and LE attendees.

It’s been great working with the military and LE members as well as HSP’s industry partners HSGI, G-Code Holsters, Impact Weapons Components, Arc’teryx LEAF, Outdoor Research, US Palm, B5 Systems, Emissive Energy/Inforce, UTM, Rifle Dynamics, Dark Mountain Research, PNW Ammunition and Kill Cliff as well as media reps from ITS Tactical.

Don’t forget, ITS Tactical is also on hand so make sure you visit their site for additional photos. Look for the simultaneous release of an AAR from both of us soon. Until then, enjoy our serialized look at HSP’s Disruptive Industries.

B5 Systems – SOPMOD now on Facebook (upgrades coming)

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

Soldier Systems Daily has covered B5 Systems since the beginning; there some new developments coming, including the lighter Bravo version and some ‘upgrades’ in construction (hopefully to be seen in use by mid-Summer).

The 160th SOAR have used them, some of the numbered Groups have used them, and line infantry units are starting to pick them up. The Enhanced SOPMOD by B5 Systems has been seen in several interesting places overseas and by all accounts the troops using them really like them. The civilian version now has a little brother coming out, with some new features (a new latch, a quick detach anti-rotational sling swivel) and a textured surface.

B5 Systems is live now on Facebook, featuring some really nice photography of the SOPMOD in use (along with many other well-regarded products). The stocks are coming in MultiCam, A-TACs, FDE, black and others (all with color-matched hardware). Most of the new stocks will be coming with the anti-rotational QD, based on feedback from end users and training personnel, but they’ve already heard from some organizations that prefer them with a standard QD so both will probably remain in production.

What Lurks in the New York Night

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

Haley Strategic Partners recently held a Disruptive Environments Urban Darkness exercise in New York. Participants were a mix of law enforcement narco/counter terrorism background.

In the photos, look for BCM, Mayflower Research, Smith Optics, Mechanix Gloves, Battery ACOGs, EOTech, HSP Thorntail Light Mounts, Surefire Mags, HSGI pouches, G-Code Holsters, B5 Systems and Arcteryx LEAF.

HSP discovered that Arc’teryx Wolf Grey is great for interiors but found Croc actually more suited to the “yellow” light of the NYC night. The team ran a mix of Croc tops with their civy Raider pants in graphite.
