SAVANNAH, GA—February 19, 2012—Blue Force Gear® announced today that they will provide their weight-slashing Helium Whisper™ pouch attachment system to Mayflower Research & Consulting. Mayflower joins the growing number of adoptees for Blue Force Gear’s Patent pending Helium Whisper and this technology will enhance the products they currently provide to elite users. Mayflower anticipates full stock of their pouches with Helium Whisper backers in approximately 45 days.

“Mayflower Research & Consulting is proud to be working with Blue Force Gear moving forward with a great addition to our product lineup. Blue Force Gear has made a giant leap forward in removing weight off of the warfighter’s back and we see it as a natural compliment to our philosophy of building products for the military athlete,” said Travis Rolph, Mayflower’s CEO.

“Quiet professionals know Mayflower to be a forward-thinking company and we have the highest respect for Travis and his team,” said Ashley Burnsed, Blue Force Gear’s CEO. “We look forward to helping them improve the comfort, speed, and survivability of their customers with Helium Whisper.”

Helium Whisper allows modular pouch backs to be constructed from a single piece of high-performance laminate versus the multiple straps and snaps of outdated designs. This amazing breakthrough increases strength and durability of pouches while eliminating failure points and reducing weight by up to 60 percent. Helium Whisper licensing allows OEM customers to reduce sewing costs, minimize alignment errors, maintain or increase durability, and stay relevant to today’s weight-conscious military customers.

Mayflower Low-Vis Blow-Out Kit

Mayflower has combined two great technologies for their new Low-Vis Blow-Out Kit (LVBOK). This two-piece, ambidextrous Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) is composed of a sleeve made from 4-way stretch fabric sewn to a base incorporating a Helium Whisper backer for attaching to PALS compatible equipment combined with a clamshell-style insert for your medical gear. The 4-way stretch sleeve makes it easier to store your medical gear yet deploy it quickly. You can mount the LVBOK anywhere on your kit including the belt making a great choice for small of the back wear. The insert is ambidextrous and can be deployed via pull handles with either hand.

DS Tactical to Offer Velocity Systems and Mayflower Lines in Kryptek Patterns This Month

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

Velocity Systems and Mayflower have leaked a photo or two of their current and future products in the Kryptek family of patterns which are currently finalists in the US Army’s Camouflage Improvement Effort. They had planned on debuting everything at SHOT Show and following the normal flow of things. Take orders at SHOT and then release product based on those orders in mid-spring. But now, we don’t have to wait. Velocity Systems FNG David Walsh related to SSD, “We planned to launch the sale of our existing product line (in Kryptek) at the upcoming SHOT show. DS Tactical was ready to invest immediately and who are we to argue?”

What happened to speed things up is that Canada’s DS Tactical has already placed an order that includes Mayflower LPAAC’s, APC’s, several pouches and each of the Chest rig styles in the Kryptek Highlander, Mandrake and Typhon patterns. “Working direct with end users, we believe that Kryptek offers the best range of use in every environment. Velocity/Mayflower was the easy choice when it came to providing innovative products because of their high quality and knowledge of end user needs,“ said DS Tactical’s Colin Noppers.

This stocking order means that these patterns of all Plate Carriers and Chest Rigs from Velocity and Mayflower will be available later this month. Nomad will be available in March. While pricing isn’t completely settled, they should remain in line with those of existing printed products from Velocity and Mayflower. In addition to the current line, both brands will be introducing new products at next week’s SHOT Show.

Coming SHOT Show 2013 from Velocity Systems – Tempest Uniform System

Friday, December 14th, 2012

At SHOT Show Velocity Systems and Mayflower are going to be unveiling a whole slew of new products in the Kryptek family of patterns. This won’t be just the Highlander transitional pattern you’re starting to see cropping up everywhere but the Mandrake (woodland), Nomad (desert), Typhon (night/urban) and Yeti (snow) patterns as well.

“We here at Kryptek are excited to work with the proven innovators at Mayflower R&C and Velocity Systems. Their initial product launch will be displayed in the Kryptek booth at this year’s SHOT Show in booth 3453.”
-Butch Whiting, CEO Kryptek

Here you can see the pants in Mandrake from the upcoming Tempest Uniform System. I’ve been watching them refine this design over the past few months and the features are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Their focus remains on the Warfighter as well as Law Enforcement and theirs already some serious interest in these products.

Additionally, the versatility of their offerings is really expanded thanks to the Kryptek family of camouflage patterns. Travis Rolph, President Mayflower Research and Consulting related, “The camouflage focus over the past few years has been on perfecting a single, multi-terrain pattern that provides adequate concealment over a broad range of environments. As a veteran I experienced many different battle spaces and in my opinion, purpose built, landscape specific patterns simply work better. Kryptek seems to have cracked that code.”

This sentiment is pervasive throughout the company. “I’ll never forget the first time I saw printed Kryptek fabrics, it had the ‘WOW’, said David Walsh, FNG Velocity Systems. “The impact was nothing short of amazing and I knew that our family of companies had to get involved. Velocity and Mayflower will be producing a range of integrated products in the apparel, load carriage, and armor categories.”

Look for the Tempest Uniform System as well as many other new offerings at SHOT Show 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Assault Plate Carrier in Kryptek Highlander

Check out this prototype Assault Plate Carrier in Kryptek Highlander produced by Velocity Systems. Kryptek is one of four finalists in the US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort and Highlander is their transitional pattern. The APC is a Mayflower Research & Consulting design, but don’t worry. Mayflower and Velocity work together on a wide variety of projects. Although this is a one-off, I’d hazard that it’s safe to say that this is a portent of things to come.
