This MultiCam dipped Ops-Core FAST helmet has a special paint job thanks to Über Group in honor of SOCS Brett Shadle who tragically lost his life earlier this year in a parachuting accident. The helmet along with other items will be auctioned soon to raise funds for Shady’s family.

Want an NVG Mount that actually stays put?
Want a RAIL System for helmet mounted lights, or helmet mounted cameras to document training or actual operations from Airman “Point of View” for AARs?
Want a better, adjustable, more comfortable helmet retention?
Want your goggles to stay put on your helmet?
Here’s your solution! It will completely modernize your existing ACH-style helmets.
You now have the ability to add these items/capability to your currently fielded MICH/ACH helmets. No need to buy new helmets. This system adapts to what you’ve already invested in. It includes an integrated helmet cover with rails and VAS shroud from Gentex/Ops-Core along with a Charge Pro MPLS light from Princeton Tec and a set of ESS Pivot Profile Goggles which are designed to work in concert with the Ops-Core ARC Rail. The whole kit and caboodle is topped off with the Team Wendy Cam-Fit Retention System with Boa Fit Constrictor for custom fit.
The Defensor Fortis Modular Helmet System is available through ADS Inc.
This is the Sentry helmet that debuted last year along with the new Moto Mandible and Moto Visor. These are add-ons to the helmet for use in turrets or static positions.
The Moto Visor opens and closes with indexing increments to allow for multiple vented positions and its designed to be used in conjunction with eye pro.
As you can see, it also works with NODs. Granted, there is a slight degradation due to the stand off of the goggles from the eye but it still works.
The Moto Mandible incorporates front vents that exhausts moisture from breathing to prevent the visor from fogging up. This is critical because you can actually wear the visor down to provide full protection. What would be the point of having a visor if you had to keep it up to vent?
Here it’s removed from the helmet and you can see the rear of the ballistic panels. It easily mounts and cantilevers against the edge of t.he shell. It’s held in place via two buckles that fit into the oxygen mask strap receptacles on the rail.
RACS development is complete. Look for an official release in July with orders starting in September.
This gimbal mounted hearing protection incorporates directional hearing augmentation and can be fitted directly over your ears.
Additionally, it can moved into a portage configuration.
Finally, different organizations have different ballistic requirements so now they’re offering multiple performance levels for each of the shell designs.
Orion Design Group has offered a preview of several items you will see around SHOT Show including this LF15 from Legion Firearms and Ops-Core FAST helmet with mandible.
Since some folks didn’t believe that the Mission Configurable Helmet Cover is real, I wanted to follow up with this video shot yesterday at AUSA.
This thing is ingenious. It allows you to take a standard, slick ACH (of which there are well over 1 million out there) and, once you have mounted the Mission Configurable Helmet Cover, you have an Ops-Core VAS Shroud and ARC Rail mounted on the helmet. Need to go back to a slick helmet for an admin jump or to turn it in? Take the cover off.
Gentex tells me you will be able to order the cover by size and pattern and then specify which accessories you want mounted including color of accessories and whether or not you want pile tape on the cover.
I ran by the Gentex booth and picked up their new catalog interested in seeing if they had integrated any of Ops-Core’s products into their offerings. As most of you will remember, Gentex purchased Ops-Core early this year. Sure enough, a small sampling of Ops-Core products was in the back of the catalog. But, they were some interesting surprises.
From the photos and the description in the catalog, you attach the VAS shroud and ARC rails to Mission Configurable Helmet Cover and put it on the helmet when you need those capabilities. Otherwise, you ACH remains stock. I must admit, I do wonder how the cover will handle the stress if you start hanging lots on it.
Additionally, it appears that they have refined the visor system they have been working on over the years. The Moto Visor and Mandible work alone or in concert to protect the face of those wearing helmets configured with an ARC rail set up.
TYR Tactical is cranking out new products and here are two of their latest.
The Light Weight Assaulters Pack – ARC (TYR-LAP-ARC) is a mid-size pack that can be utilized for everyday carry and/or adapted to the back of the existing armor systems. The pack also features 2” padded lumbar support and modular belt loop. The inside compartment features a small cargo pouch to accommodate various operator items with room for additional kit. TYR has incorporated their proprietary PV material in abrasion point to reduce weight yet offer the strength and durability of Aramids.
Main Pack: 20”H x 11”W x 6”D
Front Pocket: 17”H x 9”W x 3”D
Weight: 2.6lbs
They’ve also introduced a new Ballistic Helmet Cover (TYR-OCHC-V1) designed to fit, you guessed it, the FAST Maritime Ops-Core Helmet which is becoming more and more popular. The design is a combination of 500D Codura and mesh and leaves complete access to the night vision mount and rail accessories. Loop and wire routing points are positioned to allow the wearer flexibility for management of cables and IFF.
