Ed Brown Products Introduces the K1 Field Knife Designed by Jason Knight

Tuesday, June 5th, 2018

PERRY, MO – Ed Brown Products, Inc, is proud to team up with the craftsmen at Winkler Knives USA and master bladesmith Jason Knight to introduce the Ed Brown K1 fixed blade knife.

Some may know Jason Knight from his time as a Judge on the History Channel’s Forged In Fire.  What you may not know is that he began designing knives at a young age, inspired by Edgar Rice Boroughs novels.

Jason’s designs are more than just edged weapons and tools, they are functional art. His designs are inspired by curves and angles found in nature, and by years of studying blade performance and ergonomics.

His unique designs and experience made Jason the perfect choice to design the first knife for Ed Brown.  Fitting with their 50 year history of making custom 1911s, Jason took some of the design cues from standards like, the Snakeskin on the Kobra Carry and the skeletonized hammer on the 1911.  The K1 field knife is lightweight and the perfect companion in the field or on the range.

Sales and Marketing Director John May said, “It just doesn’t get any better than this –  having a Master Bladesmith like Jason design our first knife.  It has been an honor to work with him, and we look forward to teamming up with him on more projects in the future.

For more information on the K1 Knife, or any of the world’s finest custom 1911s, parts and accessories, check with your local Ed Brown Products Authorized Dealer or visit www.edbrown.com.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.  Find  informational videos on our firearms by visiting our YouTube channel.

MAY 2, 2018 (BAGHDAD, IRAQ) – Federal Resources, the premier single-source provider of customized, integrated solutions to military (Foreign Military Sales) and civilian (Direct Commercial Sale) CBRN incident response teams served as this year’s co-chair of the Iraq 3rd National CBRN Security Coordination Conference held in Baghdad, April 16-19, 2018.

This is Federal Resources’ second year participating in the annual conference and is in support of broader Iraqi and U.S. Government (USG) efforts to prevent the proliferation of sensitive or weaponizable CBRN materials and mitigate the use of CBRN WMDs in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region.
This annual event convenes Government of Iraq (GOI), USG, and other international public and private sector stakeholders to discuss timely MENA counter-WMD/CBRN proliferation priorities and identify technology solutions and best practices that can bridge existing gaps in Iraq’s CBRN security capabilities. During the proceedings, Federal Resources led a panel discussion focused on how to effectively leverage public-private partnerships in countering modern CBRN threats and facilitated a day-long CBRN Incident Response Training and Equipment Demonstration for Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, and Peshmerga CBRN response and counter-terrorism teams. This is an ongoing effort by Federal Resources International to work with partner countries around the globe and provide the expertise and resources that will allow them to navigate the CBRN marketplace.

Due to ongoing engagement with Iraqi security and response communities, on-the-ground accessibility, and strong relationships with key partner nation leaders, Federal Resources is uniquely positioned to provide sustainable and critically needed CBRN technical solutions and interoperability strategies tailored for unique threats, environmental considerations, and available resources. TNVC is Excited to Announce the RNVG from AB NightVision Inc

Tuesday, June 5th, 2018

1D25C9F3-366D-4C38-BCBD-558EA04FD424

The RNVG is designed as the most rugged night vision goggle available. While most NVG’s are built with molded polymer housings, the RNVG features a 7075 aluminum chassis for unsurpassed rigidity and structural strength. All articulation points have been beefed up to increase impact resistance, giving users one tough goggle. Designed and machined at AB NightVision, and finished / assembled at TNVC, the Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle is ready to face the toughest customers and harshest environments!

EA07C341-57B3-4C33-BC4C-EB1E8D40B961

Traditionally, the weakest point in a night vision goggle is the joint between the optic pods and the bridge. This point accounts for the majority of catastrophic breakage when a NVG is dropped or hit. Part of this reason is that these joints are either polymer on polymer or metal on polymer interfaces. While there are some seriously impact resistant polymers out there, it’s hard to beat aluminum for strength to weight ratios. Both the optic pods and bridge in the RNVG are machined from solid billet 7075 (a material that is 36% stronger than most common steel), to give end users the strongest NVG on the market (not to mention a little piece of mind). Careful design and advanced machining keep the weight down to 20 oz. with a battery installed.

US Army Seeks Novel Materials/Components/Designs for an Improved Hot Weather Army Combat Boot

Tuesday, June 5th, 2018

Although the US Army has made great strides in working with industry to offer a new Jungle Boot, they aren’t resting on their laurels. In fact, they’re already looking to improve the design. In late May, the the Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center released a request for information to industry for Novel Materials/Components/Designs for an Improved Hot Weather Army Combat Boot.

7007CA71-31C2-4FAE-87E6-3ECEDA441CCC

The primary goal of this RFI is to identify footwear vendors capable of manufacturing prototypes. Responses are also requested from footwear component manufacturers whose product may provide one or more of their requested capabilities. Interest is specifically in responses defining component materials, constructions, and/or footwear designs that are optimized for use in a hot weather environment (where temperatures range from 50 to 120°F), with a special interest in materials/designs that reduce footwear weight and increasing comfort.

The linked pdf describes the types of prototypes they are seeking.

BOSS StrongBox Raising Funds For Gold Star Teen Adventures

Tuesday, June 5th, 2018

BOSS StrongBox will be hosting an fundraiser raffle online with a goal to raise over $5,000 for Gold Star Teen Adventures; a non-profit whose mission is to provide healing, mentor-ship, development, and opportunity to the children of Special Operations Service Members who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Gold Star Teen Adventures was started by Kent Solheim, a Special Operations Service Member who was seriously wounded in combat in Iraq in 2007, ultimately losing his right leg. Kent’s experiences on his road to recovery inspired the creation of Gold Star Teen Adventures. Kent, a father of two, realized that if he had not made it home, he would have still wanted his children to know the brotherhood of the Special Operations community that he had grown to love, and to share the adventures that his career had permitted him to do.

BOSS StrongBox has teamed up with other leading brands to provide over 20 different prizes with a total retail value of over $5,000.  Ranging from Pelican Cases to Streamlight TLR, Blac-Rac Weapon Retention Systems, Gerber Multi-Tools and more, there will be plenty of great prizes to win.

With raffle tickets selling for only $10 each, it won’t cost you much for a chance to win.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the cause and doing what we can to help support programs like Gold Star Teen Adventures and give back to the families who have served our country and ultimately gave their lives for our freedom.

The fundraiser starts June 1st and will run through the month, ending June 29th.  You’ll want to follow along on Instagram (@BossStrongBox) to get updates and watch the live raffle take place at the end of the month (note: you won’t have to watch live to win, if you’re name is pulled we’ll contact you).

Buy your ticket(s) and view the prizes here:  https://www.bossstrongbox.com/fundraiser

Blade Show 18 – Brous Blades MFCEO

Monday, June 4th, 2018

If you recognize the initials MFCEO, then you’ll immediately realize who Brous Blades made this knife for.

33680371-FF95-4969-B04F-22CDDDB41242

If not, that’s the moniker James Yeager goes by. He liked the style of the TDI, but was looking for a knife that filled out the hand a bit more, so Jason Brous machined the G10 handle swells to fit the hand perfectly in a forward or reverse grip.

The blade is D2 Steel and it comes with a Kydex sheath by NSR Tactical.

Also available in an aluminum trainer version.
