CTRL by e-Tint will be featured at the Quantico Tactical Booth at SOFIC 2019

Monday, May 20th, 2019

CTRL® eyewear changes from light to dark tint in less than 0.1second. No lens change needed.

Aberdeen, NC– (May 2019) Quantico Tactical® is proud to announce that e-Tint, LLC will be exhibiting with them at the 2019 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), booth #1811.  E-Tint’s CTRL® line is the ONLY actively tinting eye protection APPROVED on the APEL.

CTRL® is the first-ever battlefield-ready, electronically controllable eyewear – now approved for the Army’s Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL). Combining ballistic lenses with e-Tint’s Electronic Tint-on-DemandTM technology, CTRL® is designed to enhance tactical capability and provide protection by enabling automatic switching when lighting conditions shift (for example, moving from outdoor sunshine into a dark building). By switching tint manually (on/off button) or automatically (hands-free) to adjust to any environment instantly (0.1 sec), soldiers are not required to remove their sunglasses, and their eyes remain protected at all times.

Originally developed for strategic military application in partnership with the Air Force, Navy, and Army, CTRL® eyewear offers speed and control: instant tine change with a simple press of a button, or in a hands-free mode that can be adjusted to users’ preference. With a built-in light sensor which can be programmed to exact needs, these goggles and spectacles are the Next Gen solutions for today’s warriors to eliminate the need to lift their goggle or spectacle, or mechanically change the lens, which leaves eyes unprotected in dangerous, fast-paced situations.

Using expertise in liquid crystal photonics and optics, e-Tint’s early award-winning light-reactive visors for the United States Air Force was tailored to produce eyewear that meets or exceeds the Army’s exacting MIL Spec standards, including: stringent ballistic and impact requirements ANSI z87.1 for use in military and tactical operations; high quality (ANSI z80.3) optics; anti-fog and 100% UV blocking. Equipped with a ‘fail-safe’ mechanism to ensure your safety – in the event of a loss of power, the lens will automatically go clear.

Other features include: adjustable features (nose piece, strap, arms) to allow for a comfortable and customized fit, threshold adjustment to enable tailoring of the point at which system tints interchangeable lenses (e-Tint and clear) for greater flexibility, and an optional prescription lens mount.

Stop by Quantico Tactical Booth #1811, at SOFIC 2019, to learn more about e-Tint® and their incredible eyewear.  If unable to visit at SOFIC, contact a Quantico Tactical representative at GovtOps@QuanticoTactical.com.

Mystery Ranch Jump Pack System

Monday, May 20th, 2019

A better approach to the traditional H-Harness.

Here is the complete line of MYSTERY RANCH jump packs. Developed several years ago working closely with the MFF community, the packs cover the gamut of sizes. The smallest of the line up is the JUMP RATS, a rapid-access trauma bag, then JUMP KOMODO assault pack at 45 liters, followed by the OVERLOAD, weapons carry pack, and finally the 80-liter JUMP MOUNTAIN RUCK – standard issue for several elite units, domestic and International.

MYSTERY RANCH has always focused on making packs that carry well first and foremost, then balance between lightweight and durability relative to the end users’ needs. The jump packs are constructed so they carry weight just like their non-jump counterparts, with only a 4 ounce weight penalty.

Characteristics of each jump pack come down to construction details.

See these packs, as well as other Mystery Ranch products at SOF Select, this week in Tampa, Florida.

FN To Unveil Prototype 6.5 Caliber MK48 MOD 2 Machine Gun At 2019 SOFIC

Monday, May 20th, 2019

(McLean, VA – May 20, 2019) FN America, LLC, maker of a majority of small arms for the U.S. military, is excited to announce that the company will unveil the prototype for the newest variant of the MK 48 machine gun chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor at the 2019 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC). The development of this machine gun, which joins FN’s other 6.5 offerings, was undertaken as part of FN’s response to USSOCOM’s qualification of the caliber last year.

The prototype FN MK 48 Mod 2 6.5CM features the latest upgrades for FN’s series of light and medium machine guns, including an adjustable stock for length of pull and cheek height; improved, locking charging handle; improved, double-notched sear; improved handguard with 3-, 6- and 9-o’clock positions with improved bipod; and, more robust feed tray latch, ensuring the feed tray cover locks into place during reloads. Once development is complete, existing MK 48 Mod 1 models can be configured at the armorer level to the Mod 2 variant or newest caliber with the addition of the upgrade kit and barrel conversion.

The FN MK 48 Mod 0, adopted as a USSOCOM program of record in 2003, was developed from FN Herstal’s 7.62x51mm FN MINIMI® at the request for a compact and easily-maneuverable machine gun in a heavier caliber. The improvements to the MK 48 were also incorporated into the M249 series and is in service with USSOCOM as the MK 46 5.56x45mm machine gun. In addition, FN also holds current USSOCOM contracts for the MK 17 7.62-caliber carbine and MK 20 SSR precision rifle.

To see the newest MK 48 Mod 2 6.5CM and FN’s other legendary military firearms, please visit booth 804 at the 2019 SOFIC Conference in Tampa, Florida, or visit fnamerica.com.
