PWS to Attend Enforce Tac 2024

Tuesday, February 27th, 2024

Primary Weapons Systems will be exhibiting at Enforce Tac 2024 this week in Germany.

BOISE, Id. February 26, 2024 – PWS (Primary Weapons Systems) is proud to announce that it will be exhibiting at Enforce Tac 2024 in Nürnberg, Germany February 26-28, 2024.

Enforce Tac 2024 is a trade show designed to be a meeting place for professionals from government agencies with security responsibilities and the armed forces. Exhibitors will feature everything that government security professionals and military personnel from around the world may need. The show is an opportunity to discover new products, consult with experts and work together to support domestic and external security throughout Europe. PWS will be in attendance at stand 2-717, showcasing multiple legacy piston-driven products as well as the new UXR rifle platform that debuted in January at SHOT Show 2024.

The true innovation in the UXR platform lies in the patent-pending Xchange system. The upper receiver of the UXR is the only serialized part of the setup, enabling the shooter to easily transition from configuration to configuration, caliber to caliber. The UXR also features an incomparable look and feel – combining functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics into one platform. Adaptability is the core principle of the UXR, showcased in its many customizable features such as an adjustable buttstock that can fold left or right, an adjustable cheek plate, and ambidextrous-able selector switch, magazine release and even the charging handle.  The UXR platform also features a proprietary internal operation, or a “modified long-stroke piston system”, allowing the rifle to adapt and perform flawlessly with any UXR barrels regardless of caliber. This allows the user to swap calibers and barrels without needing to adjust the gas system each and every time. The newly designed Bore Evacuator reduces back pressure, especially when a suppressor is being used, making the UXR the perfect platform for suppressed shooting. Initially the platform will be available in .223, 300 BLK, and .308 calibers with more to follow later in 2024.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to attend Enforce Tac 2024” said President and CEO Nathan Treadaway.  “Our team is proud to be able to share the UXR with this international community of professionals, showing them just how revolutionary and impactful the new platform is.”

167th Communications Flight Redesignated as Squadron

Tuesday, February 27th, 2024

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A ceremony marking the redesignation of the 167th Communications Flight as a squadron was held at Shepherd Field, Martinsburg, W.Va., Feb. 3, 2024.

During the ceremony the 167th Communications Squadron guidon was revealed and the 167th Communications Flight guidon was furled for the final time.

Air National Guard units nationwide are redesignating their communications flights to communications squadrons due to the growing responsibilities and emerging mission-sets required of the communications career field.

There’s been many technological advances since the communications flight was established at the 167th nearly 60 years ago, explained Lt. Col. Donald Carpenter, 167th Communications Squadron commander.

“Now we’re on the cusp of a new technological era with artificial intelligence, machine learning and large language models,” said Carpenter. “A new season requires a new approach, and the Air Force sees that and is realigning the force to do that.”

The 167th Communications Squadron units enables the information technology infrastructure of the wing. They are responsible for the computer and networking hardware, printers, cell phones, handheld tablets, software deployment, software updates, communications security for the classified network, radio equipment, wireless networks, base fiber optic and copper infrastructure that connects the wing to the Department of Defense network.

As a squadron, the communications unit is postured to take on additional roles to protect cyberspace platforms and to meet expeditionary and mission generation support requirements.

Carpenter acknowledged that there will be challenges as the squadron adjusts to the new mission-sets but said they will get through it.

“We’ve been on a journey for three years to reshape the organization to what it is today,” he said. “We’ll continue to drive that needle forward to much greater success.”
