Team SIG Captain Max Michel Takes Home a First Place Finish at the USPSA 2020 Alabama Sectionals

Saturday, August 29th, 2020

NEWINGTON, N.H., (August 25, 2020) – SIG SAUER, Inc. congratulates Team SIG Captain and professional shooter Max Michel for his first-place finish in the Carry Optics Division at the USPSA 2020 Alabama Sectionals.

“After the unanticipated disruption of the competitive shooting schedule for 2020, it’s great to see that Max has dived back in, hasn’t missed a beat, and continues to dominate carry optics competition,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales.  “Max’s sustained success and winning record with the SIG SAUER P320 XFIVE LEGION and ROMEO3MAX red dot sight continues to provide validation that this setup is a winning combination.”

To take his Carry Optics titles at the USPSA 2020 Alabama Sectionals, Max competed against 79 competitors through eight stages.  For competition, Max used his P320 XFIVE LEGION with a ROMEO3MAX red dot sight and SIG 147 grain Match Elite 9mm Competition Ammunition.

“This year’s Alabama Sectionals was a challenging match and the competition came prepared to compete at the highest level.  Each stage really tested my training with covered targets and targets placed at much farther distances than you normally see in competition,” said Michel.  “My SIG equipment, including my ROMEO3MAX and P320 XFIVE LEGION, gave me the edge I needed to navigate these complicated stages to take home the win for Team SIG.”

The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO3MAX red dot sight developed and used by Team SIG Captain and Professional Shooter Max Michel and SIG 147 grain Match Elite 9mm competition ammunition can be purchased online at sigsauer.com/store or retailers everywhere.

The USPSA 2020 Alabama Sectionals was held at CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, August 15-16, 2020.

Comp-Tac Releases Holster Fits for the S&W M&P 9 Shield EZ

Friday, August 28th, 2020

HOUSTON, Aug. 21, 2020 – Comp-Tac® recently added new Smith & Wesson® M&P® 9 Shield™ EZ® fits for the MTAC™, Infidel Max™, Warrior™, eV2™ and International™ holsters.

These five holsters rank among Comp-Tac’s most popular items. The brand periodically releases new holster fits throughout the year to accommodate more and more gun owners, and to match the ever-growing firearms market.

“Firearm manufacturers continue to expand their product lines with handguns that have additional features and options to fit a wide variety of customers, lifestyles and uses,” said Gordon Carrell, Comp-Tac general manager. “We at Comp-Tac believe in those same ideals and strive to match the varied number of handguns with an equal variation of holsters. Our many holster fits help to meet the needs of customers regardless of carry position, clothing options, lifestyle needs and more.”

The MTAC is a hybrid, inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster that works perfectly for customers who need to tuck their shirt in. The two mounting clips on the MTAC are located on the sides of the holster, allowing a shirt to be tucked in over the gun and holster, leaving only the clips to show for deep concealment.

The Infidel Max Holster is an all-Kydex® IWB holster designed to be worn behind the hip at the 4 o’clock or 5 o’clock positions. With an easy-on, easy-off single clip, this holster is a favorite for users who want the ability to put on their gun or take it off as their environment changes.

The Warrior Holster is an outside-the-waistband holster that was recently tested and recommended by the National Training Officers Association (NTOA). The all-Kydex, pancake design is excellent for concealed carry or general range use.

The eV2 Holster is an appendix inside-the-waistband holster designed for concealed carry. The eV2 includes the Comp-Tac Kick, a piece designed to help press the grip of the gun into the body for better concealment.

The International Holster is an all-Kydex holster with a modular mounting system that includes a belt mount, paddle mount and drop offset piece. The International has been the top holster used at the IDPA nationals for eight years in a row and is an excellent choice for those who want to participate in competitive shooting events or head to the range for some training time.

Atlantic Signal Receives New Contract from United States Secret Service Counter Assault Team

Friday, August 28th, 2020

Atlantic Signal recently received another significant order from the United States Secret Service Counter Assault Team.

Atlantic Signal and the USSS CAT have been doing business for well over a decade. Several product designs as well as added product features of Atlantic Signal products have come from this long-term relationship.

“The USSS CAT has many unique requirements that require something beyond the traditional tactical communications equipment one might correlate with conventional tactical teams. CAT is a specialized tactical unit of the United States Secret Service that provides tactical support to the Presidential Protective Division to protect the President of the United States. The members of CAT are Secret Service Special Agents who have gone through and complete an 8-month course at FLETC in Georgia and have also successfully served multiple years in the Secret Service. Once accepted to CAT, the Agents undergo additional training including counter-ambush tactics and CQB. They are a finely meshed team of professionals at the highest level”, states Randall Hedrick, President and Managing General Member of Atlantic Signal.

USSS Counter Assault, due to their wide ranging mission sets, chose both the Atlantic Signal exclusive Peltor ComTac V circum-aural headset and the DOMINATOR II headset featuring RX audio via both the facial bones and ear canals with the addition of both electronic hearing protection and ambient environmental amplification when the DOMINATOR II earpieces are engaged. Further, Atlantic Signal made unique modifications to CAT’s shoulder microphones for use with their PTT and radio interfaces.

The DOMINATOR II headset push-to-talk assembly features plug and play cables designed and manufactured by Atlantic Signal for their Motorola radios as well as their Harris 6 pin radio models. Custom cables were also designed and manufactured for use with CAT’s key-load adapters.

The ComTac V headset suite, purchased by the team, features the Atlantic Signal WARRIOR Dual Comm push-to-talk. The plug and play cables designed and manufactured by Atlantic Signal can be used with both the WARRIOR and DOMINATOR II PTTS..

Atlantic Signal also provided a custom, coiled cable assembly for use with both push-to-talks and the team member’s smartphones.

Atlantic Signal is based out of Topeka, KS where they develop, design, manufacture and sell tactical communications and accessories. The company started in 1989 with a focus on tactical law enforcement. Today, thirty-one years later, the company’s clients include Customs and Border Patrol, Naval Special Warfare, LAPD, ATF, MARSOC, DEA, US Coast Guard, US Secret Service among thousands of military and law enforcement clients around the world.

White Out Overwhites from Wild Things – The New Heat for the Snow

Thursday, August 27th, 2020

Travel to Vail, Colorado and you’ll find a 13’ tall ‘Ski Trooper’ monument honoring the formation of the Tenth Mountain Division. Decked out with skis and old-school Overwhites – the Ski Troopers of the Tenth, and the Finnish that inspired them, might be seen as founding fathers of Overwhites in the military.

And if the Tenth represented the introduction of Overwhites to the military, it could be said that 1969’s ‘Where Eagles Dare’ and an Overwhites clad Clint Eastwood was Hollywood’s introduction of Overwhites to the masses.

Fast-forward: times have changed, and so have White Out Overwhites®. Still a favorite with select military units, as well as Hollywood, Overwhites provide concealment when the snow flies – deployed, or on the screen.

When there’s a need for Overwhites today, military units, the brands and community that support them, as well as Hollywood, all call Wild Things:
