Magpul – New Ballcaps

I got a chance to check these new caps out at Modern Day Marine/AUSA last month. I like the new designs, particularly the Culpepper Flag version, which features retro styling. They are an affordable way to keep the sun out of your eyes and show your support for Magpul.

Ask SSD – Arc’teryx LEAF Cold WX Jacket and Pants SV Temp Range

Recently, after we mentioned the latest Cold Weather ensemble from Arc’teryx LEAF, we were asked, “What Is The Intended Temp Range For The Arc’teryx LEAF Cold WX Jacket and Pants SV?”

The answer is from -20C/-04F down to -40C/-40F, so you’re looking at some seriously cold temperatures.


We also got a question, asking if the fit block in the torso is large enough to wear over kit. According to Arc’teryx, the amswer is “No.” It’s designed to be worn with overwhites, if required tactically, and with external LCE as you can see in this CSOR photo.

Era3 – Utility Aprons

Oxcart Update – Introducing The V2CS

We recently wrote about Oxcart’s V2 Jeans. Apparently, they’ve sold well.  So well, that sizes 32 and 34 are currently sold out.

Oxcart just sent us an update that they are introducing a new version of the V2’s that they’re calling V2cs (CS stands for color spectrum). It’s a finished garment that has been given a reactive dye bath which includes a silicone / enzyme treatment to give the pants a softer hand feel. The reactive dye baths also allow them to offer any color. The first color available will be Wolf Grey, but on a different quality stretch denim made by Cone Mills than the V2s. The V2CS are available in sizes 30, 36, 38, and 40.

Additionally, Oxcart gave us a sneak peek of something they’re working on. A SOF customer asked them to make a pair of V2s with a special pocket for a Phokus lowvis blowout kit. They ended up making two; one for him and one for a teammate.

Kitanica All Season Pants To Be Featured In Jumanji

In some set photos up the upcoming blockbuster remake of Jumanji starring the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Mr. The Rock, was seen rocking a pair of Kitanica’s All Season Pants.
