Largest Precision Rifle Match in Nation Sponsored by Bushnell for Over a Decade

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – October 12, 2023 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, was proud to once again serve as title sponsor for the 11th annual GA Precision/Bushnell Elite Tactical “GAP Grind” Pro/Am. Bushnell has served as a presenting sponsor of the match for over a decade, and has been a longtime supporter of PRS competitions. Through its high quality long-range optics and numerous professional shooters, Bushnell and Elite Tactical™ have become trusted names in the precision shooting world. For 2023, the company continues to introduce purpose-built optics that long-range shooters can count on, such as the new Match Pro ED 5-30X56 riflescope and Match Pro ED 15×56 binoculars.

“We always look forward to attending the GAP Grind,” said Carlos Lozano, Bushnell brand manager. “There’s no other shooting event like it in the world, and we love how it  provides an opportunity for so many new people to experience long range shooting. Bushnell has always been focused on finding new ways to grow the shooting sports and the continued success of the GAP Grind speaks for itself.”

On Friday, Bushnell hosted two side stages before the main match began, providing an opportunity for competitors, range officers and volunteers to test out the brand’s latest optics. At the side stages, attendees were able to test out the new Bushnell Match Pro ED riflescope and Match Pro ED binoculars in a modified .22LR course of fire and then test their pistol skills with the new RXM 300 Reflex Sight.

Not only were Bushnell employees on-site throughout the weekend participating in and supporting the match, but Bushnell also contributed several match awards to various competitors and participants. Among these awards were the Deserving Amateur, Deserving Range Officer and Top Sportsman.

Bushnell wishes to congratulate all the shooters who took part in the match and looks forward to joining them again next year at the K&M Precision Rifle Training Shooting Complex in Finger, Tennessee.

Tyrant CNC Patent Pending Safety Blade Trigger for SIG SAUER P365 Enters the Final Stages of R&D

Friday, October 13th, 2023

Chicago, IL 10.11.23— For those who appreciate the nuances of firearm mechanics and demand the best in performance and precision in their equipment, Tyrant CNC, an avant-garde in firearm customization, has confirmed that its highly anticipated, patented safety blade design IntelliFire™ Trigger System for the esteemed SIG SAUER P365 is almost here. It is said that the release date is targeted between Black Friday and Christmas. See more info plus Product renderings below:

The SIG SAUER P365, celebrated for its compact design and formidable delivery, now meets its perfect match in the IntelliFire™. This trigger isn’t merely an aesthetic modification; it’s an evolution, engineered specifically for all P365 variants. The trigger not only is the first of its kind to feature a safety blade system that is compatible with all P365 grip modules, but it also boasts a 30% reduced take up/pre-travel, a true 90-degree break, and works WITH the OEM internal safety mechanisms.

The IntelliFire™ speaks volumes of Tyrant CNC’s engineering ethos. Its shoe, CNC Machined from 17-4 stainless steel is already a stronger steel than used over the OEM. Mated with that steel trigger shoe are dual 6061 anodized aluminum trigger blades operated by a single, specially designed stainless steel and heat-treated spring. All of these quality, made in the USA parts/components are purposely chosen for their reliability, aiming to outpace the firearm’s very own duty cycle.

Perhaps the crown jewel of the IntelliFire™ is its patent-pending dual safety blade system. Given the P365’s inherent grip module constraints, a traditional safety blade design is impossible. Here, Tyrant CNC’s engineering acumen took center stage. By engineering a 3:1 lever ratio system, the trigger is able to operate like any industry standard safety-bladed trigger, using the grip module to stop the trigger travel and prevent an inadvertent fire.

The IntelliFire™ epitomizes calculated engineering. A staggering 30% reduction in pre-travel testifies to its refined mechanics. Tyrant CNC’s patented hybrid trigger ergonomics further amplify the user experience, ensuring a steadfast 90-degree break. This culmination of mechanical refinement and ergonomic design promises unparalleled shooting consistency.

In summation, the IntelliFire™ Trigger System is not just a product; it’s an engineering marvel. By melding unparalleled safety features with enhanced performance metrics, Tyrant CNC is poised to redefine the SIG SAUER P365 experience.

Introducing The New S.O.Tech Laser Cut Tactical Symbology Patches

A Modern Twist On A S.O.Tech Original

S.O.Tech has new additions to their full line of tactical symbology which now include a modern twist on a S.O.Tech original. We have been making our embroidered symbology patches for about 15 years now. Therefore, we are pleased to announce our new laser cut tactical symbology patches. They were designed as a Mil Std 2525C supplement to accurately represent specialized job functions at the individual level. Originally, because S.O.Tech’s line of bags (Mission Go Bag and Mission Pack) were so multi-functional, they needed an identifier so the operator could easily determine what was inside the bag. Our bags were being used to hold sniper gear, medical gear, breacher gear, and commo gear. So, during a medical emergency, we created the medical patch so you could tell that pack from the others. SOCOM and USASOC allowed us to include these patches on our bags and patches throughout the GWOT, so you’ve probably seen them across the spectrum.

S.O.Tech has also adapted the symbols for use on patches which can be worn to designate various functions at the small unit level, whether on the pack or on a person. This can be an excellent way to identify special skills-centric gear to cut through the “fog of war” during chaotic situations. The new line of laser cut patches include Medic, Rifleman, Grenadier, Light Machine Gunner, and Heavy Machine Gunner.

We have two different variations of our patches. The first option being a IR honeycomb reflective and the second option being an IR only.

Price: $25

NIOA Begins Boxer Ammunition Production

Thursday, October 12th, 2023

NIOA has begun ammunition production for the Army’s next-generation armoured Boxer vehicle, marking a significant milestone for munitions manufacturing in Australia.

The company will produce 40,000 rounds of medium calibre training ammunition at the Commonwealth Government-owned NIOA-operated plant in Benalla, Victoria for the Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV) which is being made in Queensland by Rheinmetall.

Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy (centre) with GWEO Chief AVM Leon Phillips (left) and members of the NIOA team at the Benalla facility…and (below) the 30mm projectiles coming off the line, bound for testing in the Boxer combat vehicle’s cannon.

It comes as the Minister for Defence Industry, Pat Conroy announced a $220 million investment in munitions production at Benalla and another government-owned contractor-operated (GOCO) factory at Mulwala in regional New South Wales.

Minister Conroy and Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise Chief AVM Leon Phillips OAM toured NIOA’s Benalla operation last Friday (Eds: October 6) as the first batch of 30mm projectiles was being prepared to roll off the line.

A key recommendation of the Defence Strategic Review was to replenish GWEO stocks and to establish sovereign missile and munition manufacturing facilities in Australia.

“Improving Australia’s ability to manufacture the munitions our defence force needs is not only critical to meeting the strategic challenges we face as a nation, it will also support local industry and well-paid, skilled local jobs,” Minister Conroy said.

“The Mulwala and Benalla munition factories underpin Australia’s ability to develop critical propellants, explosives and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.”

NIOA Australia and New Zealand CEO Ben James welcomed the Government’s investment in domestic munitions production.

“This will further support Australia’s growing defence industrial base and comes at an exciting time as we ramp up production of the Boxer ammunition at Benalla,” he said.

“NIOA’s $12m investment at Benalla reflects our commitment to work with Government and Defence in delivering sovereign capability and local jobs.

“We have a highly qualified and professional team at Benalla who have worked exceptionally hard to reach this key milestone in sovereign munitions manufacture.”

The NIOA tenancy at Benalla maintains the Commonwealth’s capabilities for the manufacture of primary energetics, pyrotechnics, medium calibre, mortar and tank ammunition, hand grenades, fuzes, primers, along with various laboratory test facilities.

The company recently completed work recapitalising 120mm tank ammunition for the Australian Army’s M1A1 Abrams tank fleet.

Mack Defense To Show Mack AC Model At AUSA 2023

Tuesday, October 10th, 2023

ALLENTOWN, PA – Mack Defense announced today that it will show a classic Mack® AC at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2023 Annual Meeting and Exposition, Oct. 9 –11, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The Mack AC model is a heavy cargo truck that was used extensively during World War I with the British and American forces. Featuring a chain drive rear axle and an uncommon radiator that sat behind the engine, the AC model earned a reputation for toughness on the battlefields of Europe. Its tenacity earned it the nickname “Bulldog” by the British forces, which ultimately led to Mack adopting the Bulldog as its corporate symbol.

“Mack has a long and storied history as a provider of military vehicles to the U.S. Armed Forces,” said David Hartzell, president of Mack Defense. “The AC model on display in the Mack Defense booth is not only an example of the truck that inspired our Bulldog symbol, but its performance on the battlefield earned the reputation for durability and reliability that we still celebrate more than 100 years later.”

On loan from the Mack Trucks Historical Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the 1927 Mack AC model featured in the Mack Defense display in Halls D&E, Booth 8333 is a five-ton heavy truck powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 69 horsepower to the rear wheels. The truck was delivered to Ayer & McKinney of New York City on April 30, 1927.

Mack Defense announced earlier this year that it received an additional order for 135 M917A3 Heavy Dump Trucks (HDTs), which is part of a firm-fixed price $296 million contract over seven years awarded by the Army in 2018. With that order, 60 HDTs are being purchased by the U.S. Army Reserve, 74 are being funded by the Presidential budget and one is being purchased by the U.S. Navy. With this tranche, a total of 446 HDTs have been ordered to date.

In addition, Mack Defense is one of four finalists for the U.S. Army’s Common Tactical Truck (CTT) program and will be delivering three prototype vehicles by January 2024. The prototypes will be tested and evaluated to determine the final requirements for the next generation of trucks to ultimately begin modernization and replacement of the Army’s fleet of approximately 35,000 heavy tactical trucks, which perform a wide range of combat logistics and support missions.
