General Dynamics Receives NSA Certification for First TACLANE E-Series Ethernet Encryptor

The TACLANE-ES10 (KG-185A) is the only tactical, high-speed Layer 2 Ethernet Data Encryption Cryptographic Interoperability Specification (EDE-CIS) compliant solution available today.

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Missions Systems announced today that the National Security Agency (NSA) has certified the TACLANE-ES10 (KG-185A) encryptor to protect information classified Top Secret and below transmitted across Layer 2 Ethernet networks. As the first High Assurance EDE-CIS product in the TACLANE E-Series portfolio, the TACLANE-ES10 supports data rates up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gb/s) in each direction and is ruggedized and SWaP-C optimized for both data center and tactical uses. It is designed to support Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and will support Preplaced Keys (PPK) capabilities in the next release.

“Customers are demanding higher bandwidth and increased performance in crypto solutions to maintain superiority over adversaries in an increasingly challenging threat environment,” said Stephen Marker, vice president of the Secure Networks, Voice and Computing business area in General Dynamics Mission Systems’ Cyber Systems line of business. “The now certified TACLANE-ES10 meets NSA’s EDE-CIS specifications and will carry through to all TACLANE E-Series products, helping customers save time and money by eliminating the need to retrofit outdated hardware that cannot be upgraded to meet the latest EDE-CIS specifications.”

As previously announced, NSA awarded General Dynamics the contract to design, develop and test a certifiable, EDE-CIS compliant High Assurance encryption solution. The TACLANE-ES100 (KGV-185B) and TACLANE-ES400 (KGV-185C) will soon follow the TACLANE-ES10, supporting up to 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s full-duplex throughput respectively.

Bushnell’s Jessie Harrison Claims Multiple USPSA Titles Using New RXM-300 Reflex Sight

“I think everyone who competed in the Limited Optics National would agree that this was the most difficult match we’ve seen in a long time,” Harrison said. “This was the inaugural national championship for the new division. Cold weather plus moving targets and more shots at extended distances certainly proved quite the challenge. But once again, the Bushnell RXM-300 was up to the task, allowing me to make the precise hits needed to win in such a tough environment.”

Harrison went on to say, “Winning my 25th USPSA National title is such an incredible milestone in my career. And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my incredible sponsors supporting me every step of the way.”

US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center Selects Persistent Systems for 10X Robotics/AI Program

Manned-unmanned teaming effort follows prior 10X in which company provided critical network

Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”), a leader in mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) technology, was one of eight organizations selected by the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) to support them in the execution of the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) Task Request 22 Robotics and Artificial Intelligence 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon, a program set to end in a technology demonstration in September 2024, in Fort Moore, Ga.

Managed by NAMC, this 10X program aims to make Army infantry platoons 10 times more effective through the testing of select unmanned vehicles and other systems in a simulated urban environment—with Persistent Systems providing the data-agnostic, high-throughput IP communications backbone.

“We are very excited to, once again, be supporting 10X,” said Jeffrey Washington, Director for Business Development, U.S. Army/UGVs, at Persistent Systems. “We see our selection by the GVSC’s Dismounted Robotic Systems branch as a vote of confidence in the communications and support work we did during the previous 10X effort, which wrapped up with a demonstration in September 2022.”

During that prior effort, which had forces employ a mix of unmanned systems and other technology to cross an open area, the Persistent Systems Wave Relay® MANET established vital command-and-control links, while the company’s Cloud Relay™ beyond-line-of-sight capability helped developers remotely address software issues on third party platforms.

This time around, there will be even more equipment to network and an urban environment to consider. Still, company officials say they’re up for the job. “Our MANET is self-forming, self-healing, and highly scalable,” said Washington. “We’ve worked with a wide range of platform partners, and in the past, we have scaled up our network to link hundreds of nodes.”
