DroneShield Protects Brazil Presidential Inauguration

DroneShield is pleased to advise its DroneGun Tactical™ counterdrone/C-UAS system has been used in the inauguration ceremony for the president-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, held at the Cathedral of Brasilia.

Lula da Silva, a 77 year-old who already served as Brazil’s president from 2003 to 2010, is taking the Presidential office for the third time.

Presidential security has used DroneGun Tactical™ to take down four suspicious drones that were heading towards the President at the inauguration event.

Tens of thousands of people have attended the ceremony.

DroneShield has expanded into the Brazil market in mid 2021, when it has received a formal approval from Anatel, the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency responsible for issuing the concession of new radio frequencies, for deployment of its devices. Following the approval, the Company has now sold a quantity of its DroneGun Tactical™ units to Brazilian Government.

DroneShield CEO, Oleg Vornik, commented: “Brazil is a key South American market for DroneShield, and we are pleased to see deployment of our systems in the country at the highest level, which is expected to flow down to further systems being utilised in Brazil, as counter-UAS requirements continue to rapidly grow.”

Pixels on Target to Launch 3 New Systems at 2023 SHOT Show

Pixels on Target LLC will formally launch three new systems from its VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights at the 2023 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV, January 16-20, 2023. The VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights includes the VooDoo-S Short/Medium Range Multi-Mission Sight, and the VooDoo-M Medium/Long Range Multi-Mission Sight. Both sights utilize 12 micron, 640×480 resolution cores and provide best-in-class accuracy at less than 1 Minute of Angle (MOA). Designed around military requirements, the VooDoo Family of Thermal Sights are Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items that are simultaneously available to Law Enforcement, Security, and Precision Shooting customers.

VooDoo-R, VooDoo-MX, and VooDoo-MLThe VooDoo-S has been rapidly adopted by military customers around the world for its form factor, accuracy, and versatility as a clip-on sight, stand alone sight, helmet-mounted viewer, and hand-held viewer. Full rate production of VooDoo-S began in 2020, and Pixels has maintained continuous production and delivery since then.

The VooDoo-M has been rapidly adopted as well, with customers in 7 countries selecting it for its advantages in size, weight, power, accuracy, and versatility. The VooDoo-M will now be offered in three variants, all with identical electronics, optics, and housing. The VooDoo-M variants will now be VooDoo-M (no aiming lasers), VooDoo-ML (with dual aiming lasers), and VooDoo-MX (with integrated laser range finder). VooDoo-MX is one of the 3 new products being launched by Pixels on Target. End user organizations will be able to test it in live fire during Pixels on Target’s Range Day 2023, which is not open to the public.

Pixels on Target will do a formal launch of the VooDoo-B 2.0 Thermal Binocular. The system includes integrated GPS, Digital Magnetic Compass, and Laser Range Finder. Detection range in excess of 3,000 meters in an incredibly small package (3.1 lbs). The VooDoo-B 2.0 is now in continuous production, with units produced, delivered, and fielded in 2022. The original VooDoo-B will no longer be offered, as the VooDoo-B 2.0 provides significant improvements in performance and capabilities.

The third system for Launch at SHOT Show 2023 is the VooDoo-R, which combines the features of the VooDoo-B into a form factor that resembles the VooDoo-M. Single-handed operation, less than 1.5 lbs, with integrated laser range finder. Ideal of recon and surveillance operations.

The VooDoo-S and VooDoo-M Sights, along with the VooDoo-B thermal binocular will be on display at the SHOT Show in Booth # 30103 with our distribution partner Noble, and at Booth # 62211 with TNVC.

Shadow Systems Releases Long-Slide Full-Size DR920L

Las Vegas, NV (January, 2023) – American pistol manufacturer Shadow Systems has announced the release of its newest pistol, the DR920L, at SHOT Show 2023. The DR920L is built on same frame as the brand’s top-selling duty-role 9mm, the DR920, and features a lengthened top end.

Shadow Systems’ DR920L adds a full sight radius 5.3 inch barrel for best-in-class accuracy and control during rapid fire. The long slide configuration soaks up recoil making it the brand’s fastest, uncompensated design. The reduction in felt recoil and improved shot-to-shot recovery of the DR920L gives shooters an edge when accuracy and speed matter.

The DR920L’s frame features configurable ergonomics. Interchangeable backstraps allow shooters to adjust the grip angle to fit their natural point of aim. An extended beavertail and aggressive trigger guard undercut work to dramatically reduce recoil and increase controllability. The frame’s wrap-around grip texture is aggressive enough to keep the gun firmly in the shooter’s grip without being uncomfortable for daily wear.

The DR920L is available only as an Elite model. The DR920L Elite slide features front, rear, and top directional serrations, window cuts, and a thinned profile at grasping locations. The pistol features a 5.3 inch conventionally rifled, spiral fluted match-grade unthreaded barrel.

The drop-safe, flat-faced aluminum trigger has a 4.5-5.0 lbs trigger pull and a crisp, tactile reset. Shadow Systems’ patented optic cut allows shooters to mount the mini red dot optic of their choosing. The optic cut on the DR920L can accommodate most major brands of RDS optics directly mounted to the slide, without intervening plates or adapters.
