Indoor Shoot House

Visit the Indoor Shoot House for hands-on, indoor target practice with Ultimate Training Munition’s (UTM) simunition man marker rounds. Whether you are active military, law enforcement, an armorer or a weapon safety officer, you’ll enjoy utilizing UTM’s conversion kits and bolt assembly groups on Sig Sauer and Daniel Defense weapon platforms. Experience full weapon function with regards to recoil and realistic / consistent cyclic rates in a safe, gun smoke-free environment. The UTM Simple Bolt Carrier Group exchange technology is engineered around safety and reliability, and eliminates the need for a gun range to conduct training and an armorer to conduct gunsmithing operations of a weapon.
UTM’s cutting-edge non-lethal training equipment and shoot house barrier systems allow for versatile and cost-effective training in any environment. Whether you require training for a company or a platoon-sized element, shooting lanes or a small shoot house, these barriers can be used anywhere to provide a conductive training environment.
Stop by the Shoot House to see the latest technology from exhibitors such as: Targabot, Daniel Defense, Hesco, Trijicon, Sig Sauer, L-3 EOTech and UTM.

Experience Your Mission FOB

They’ve created the ultimate forward operating base (FOB) simulated environment providing the unique opportunity to interact with medical, tactical, and security components, products and solutions all in one place. This FOB contains demos and exhibits ranging from medical shelters and medevac training, motor pool and maintenance hangers, entry point and parameter security – everything you need to ‘Experience Your Mission.’
Experience Your Mission Highlights:

Warrior East 2016

Friday, July 1st, 2016

Warrior East is just two weeks away. There’s going to be lots to see and do, but I thought we’d point out an area we don’t cover enough here in SSD and that’s medical. In particular, I’d like to focus on medical care during mass shootings since it’s a topic many are discussing in light of the recent Orlando attack.

Using a building block approach, Warrior East host ADS has been working with vendors to offer a comprehensive line of medical kits, tailored for different, yet complementary applications.  For example, the Medical Incident Response Kit, otherwise known as MIRK is set up for simplicity.

Module 1
Everything dealing with emergency bleeding control which includes the windless TMT (Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet), QuikClot, and a pressure bandage.

Module 2
Consists of airway management, NPA (Nasal Pharyngeal Airway) and a chest seal.

Module 3
Includes an anti-hypothermia foil blanket, patient documentation form with pen, and a quick guidance on security force compliance.

Currently, ADS is developing a two patient, four patients, six patients and ten patient kit. The concept is simple; One Patient. One Package. Multiple Lives.

Brad Stewart, Product Development Manager at ADS Inc has some great experience. He was a trauma medic in the Navy for 23 years as a Diver Medical Technician stationed with various NSW EOD and fleet diving commands and has continued his medical experience in the civilian world, building setting up and training multiple mobile hospitals, around the world, imcluding the fight against Ebola in Liberia. He explains their methodology in creating MIRK:

“We’re the cutting edge in trauma medical response. Every federal building has an AED kit in the event a person is having a heart attack and a fire extinguisher in the event there’s a fire. However, if a person is injured nobody knows where the medical kit is. Our plan is to place a high quality low cost MIRK kit wherever there’s an AED and/or a fire extinguisher. The MIRK kit will provide lifesaving products currently not available to the general public. The MIRK kit and the bystander in a response situation are the lifesaver when EMS is delayed by more than 30-40 minutes.

What we’re doing is providing the lifesaving products that will be used by the untrained bystander who is typically the first responder to an active shooter mass casualty event. EMS isn’t allowed into the site until it is secure and safe. By the time the medical professionals are able to provide the next level of life saving care it could be too late. Additionally, whenever an EMS guy comes in, his bag is built to treat two to three major injuries at a time. Once those two to three injuries are treated his bag is essentially done with the lifesaving products. The bystander or medical professional, then utilizes that kit to provide airway and bleeding management.

Once the bleeding is stopped and the airway is secure the third part of the kit includes an anti-hypothermia blanket to wrap the patient for comfort. The bystander can then document the care given and read guidelines on how to react and communicate to security personnel coming through securing the site.

Be sure to stop by the interactive display area to check these kits out and discuss your unit or agency’s requirements. ADS offers medical solutions that will outfit everything from the individual to full-blown trauma support.

Sneak Peek – MOHOC K9 Head Harness

Wednesday, May 11th, 2016

By now, I’m sure you’re familair with the MOHOC camera so I’m not going to spend a lot of time going over its capabilities. I’d rather show you this new K9 head harness. Instead of mounting the camera on the dog’s back, this version puts it on top of the K9’s head for a true POV perspective.

The MOHOC K9 harness matches the curvature of your dog’s head and maintains a snag free, low profile. This snag free design allows your dog to move in confined spaces without being impeded by a large pole or camera arm on their back. The K9 harness is adjustable both around the collar and in front of the ears, allowing you to securely attached the harness and camera to your working dog.

The K9 Head Harness will be offered in Black or Tan.

MATBOCK MR Dry

Tuesday, May 10th, 2016

What do you get when you take a great idea from a couple of SEALs, add a load carriage solution from Mystery Ranch and then have Drift Dry waterproof it?

This bundle is the MATBOCK MR Dry. The idea was borne from over the beach operations where previous waterproof pack solutions proved bulky.

The guys at MATBOCK took a look at the issue Myster Ranch Tri-Zip 3-Day Pack and considered ways to make it more user friendly for the mission. Mystery Ranch agreed to the project and MATBOCK brought in Drift Dry to produce a waterproof overbag.

As you can see, MR made some slight modifications to their harness for use in the maritime environment.

The pack remains fully waterproof until you open the outerbag. It also incorporates an oral inflation tube. Inside, you can integrate the MR 3-Day pack or medic bag and the outer bag can be rolled out of the way for full access to the inner pack.

Warrior West – Canadian Urban Environment Type III

Monday, May 9th, 2016

Here you can see Hyperstealth’s Guy Cramer wearing their Urban Environment Type III developed for a Canadian requirement which originated in 2009 by the Department of National Defence, Defence Research and Development Canada – Suffield, (DRDC-S) in Alberta to develop a Canadian Urban Environment Pattern (CUEPAT) based on the unique requirements of Canada’s three major metropolitan areas, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. CUEPAT was intended for use on CBRNE suits.

Back in 2012, we showed you their developmental Types I & II.

20120502-093946.jpg

Both are seen here along with arid coloration samples (CUEPAT 2 is left, CUEPAT 1 is right). While Types I amd II were meant for use in highly urbanized areas, the Type III at the top is tuned for use in the suburbs where concrete transitions to greenway.
