BCB Reaffirm Commitment to the United States

BCB International Ltd reflected their ongoing commitment to the United States defence and security markets by supporting partners’ at Modern Day Marine (MDM) and Special Operations Forces (SOF) Tampa 2024. The Modern-Day Marine event featured 300 exhibitors, 350 companies, Interactive displays and a wargaming convention. Modern Marine consisted of briefings from the commandant of the Marine Corps,and influential leaders from the Department of Defense.

BCB exhibited through partners at both shows featuring their new and dynamic Larva Cloak, Alternate Illuminated Marker, Multi-Spectral camouflage, Dragon Fuel, IR filter Camo Cream, and combat medic First Aid Kits. They gathered significant interest on all items but more especially in their Multi-Spectral Camouflage (MSC) from several companies and US armed forces.

Significant interest from overseas delegations was received in their multi-spectral camouflage for counter-drug operations in the jungles of South America where detection by drones is so important.

BCB are in a prime position with their multi-spectralcamouflage products for Military operations. In the Retail sector, some of BCB products are creating significant interest in their applications in the Retail market for America, specifically the BCB eco field cooking system, FireDragon, which is great for cooking rations and givesone hot coffee and melting snow all in under 6 minutes, without the smell, weight burden or hazards of the flameless systems.

During the trip, BCB met with multiple members of the Department for Business and Trade team, British Embassy and Welsh consulate including the Welsh Deputy Head of North America.

At SOF Week 2024 the United Kingdom had a significant show space booked out to feature multiple British businesses. BCB had good discussions on exports opportunities for the United Sates and their strategy to expand their footprint in America.

It is clear from both exhibitions that there is significant interest in BCB’s capabilities and it is hoped that this will lead to further business in the important United States market.

Distinguished Flying Cross Posthumously Awarded to 2 Air Commandos

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. —

Air Commandos, families, community leaders, and friends gathered at Hurlburt Field to honor Maj Randell Voas and Senior Master Sgt JB Lackey. The commander of Air Force Special Operations Command posthumously presented the Distinguished Flying Cross to Maj. Voas and Senior Master Sgt. Lackey during a ceremony here today for actions taken April 9, 2010, during a combat mission near Qalat, Afghanistan.

Mrs. Jill Voas, widow of Voas, a CV-22B pilot, and Mrs. Cassie Lackey, widow of Lackey, a CV-22B flight engineer, accepted the medals from Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind, commander of Air Force Special Operations at the Voas-Lackey Roundabout, named in honor of the two men, who were members of the 8th Special Operations Squadron here.

Voas and Lackey were critical to executing an emergency landing of their CV-22B, callsign Rooster 73. Their superior airmanship saved the lives of two crew and fourteen servicemembers aboard the aircraft.

1 servicemember and 1 interpreter, as well as Voas and Lackey, were killed in the mishap.

“Randy and JB did not have the option to sit back and let the situation unfold around them. They recognized the danger and through their expertise and their professionalism took action to lessen the impact of a compounding situation,” said Bauernfeind. “Every day that we put on our uniform, we stand on the shoulders of giants those who came before us paved the path we walk, including Randy and JB,” Bauernfeind added.

This is the second award for Lackey, who received a Distinguished Flying Cross for actions in combat in 2002.

The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded to any officer or enlisted person of the armed forces of the United States for heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight.

“We are honored to recognize their exemplary airmanship, calmness during duress and dedication to our Joint Force. Maj. Voas’s and Senior Master Sgt. Lackey’s heroism and courage in the face of disaster is a shining example of the spirit and determination that we ask of all Air Commandos,” said Bauernfeind. “They are loved, greatly missed, and will never be forgotten.”

NRAAM 24 – Kel-Tec

Kel-Tec has updated their 9mm SUB2000 carbine to a Gen 3 model. Upgrades include a metal trigger and it will accept a GLOCK 17 magazine. Additionally, the charging handle in the stock features bolt hold open slots in either direction.

But the biggest change is that the barrel twists and folds so that you can keep optics mounted even when folded.

NRAAM 24 – SIG SAUER

SIG has an amazing booth, easily the largest at the show, but there’s not much new on display. In addition to showcasing SIG Connect which is an app-based entertainment and training platform, there are a couple of gems to be found here and there.

One of those is this concept for a version of the Cross bolt action rifle featuring wood furniture.

At this point they haven’t decided whether they are going to do it or not and are soliciting feedback. Personally, I like it.

NRAAM 24 – Streamlight

Streamlight invoked their new TLR-7 HL-X USB which is a multi-fuel, high lumen, high candela weapon light. It uses one SL-B9 USB rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack or one CR123A lithium battery.

Features:

• SL-B9: 1,000 lumens; 22,000 candela; 297m beam; runs 30 minutes (default)

• CR123A: 500 lumens; 11,000 candela; 210m beam; runs 1.5 hours

• User-programmable strobe can be enabled or disabled

• “Safe off” feature prevents accidental activation, saves batteries

• IPX7-rated; waterproof to 1m for 30 mins

NRAAM 24 – Magpul

Earlier this week Magpul announced several new products including their take on interchangeable frames for the SIG P320.

Specifically, these are referred to as the EHG SG9™ SIG P320® grips. They currently come in four flavors, Compact and Full Size with or without Manual Safety.

All frames include their new custom extended Magazine Release (which is reversible and will be offered as a standalone product as well), a pic rail for lights and lasers, lanyard slot, an integral flared mag well, and are covered in their TSP texturing.

NRAAM 24 – Microtech x SureFire Knife & Light Kit

Microtech and SureFire unveiled their limited edition collaboration consisting of a Luminary Automatic Knife from Microtech and a Stilleto Pro II, boxed in a carrying case and complete with a commemorative coin.

Aside from integrating the latest in technology from both companies, the knife and light feature a tritium vial on the custom belt clips.

Limited to 1500 sets, each comes with the serial number engraved on the knife, light and coin.

No word yet on when they’ll be released for sale but it will be by Microtech.
