This is the Advanced Armament Corp MG-SD suppressor recently adopted by USSOCOM. As we stated in our article, a specific 7.62 can wasn’t purchased. That’s because the MG-SD works with both 5.56 as well as 7.62. To make this work it uses a standard flashider that is available in different calibers.

AUSA – Blue Force Gear

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Not only does Blue Force Gear literally have the coolest mannequin at AUSA but they also have the lightest pouches. Their Helium Whisper technology integrates a laser cut laminate. But that’s just half of the story. The real secret is their Tactical Origami that allows them to lay a 3-dimensional pouch flat for cutting. Once it’s assembled, there are far fewer parts meaning less weight and bulk.

On display was their full suite of Helium Whisper pouches including the GP pouches. Here you can see how low profile a GP pouch fits on a cummerbund side plate pocket. This pouch features ITW’s new Zipline zipper pulls. This model of Zipline can support 50lbs but additional models are coming.

In order to further reduce weight they have developed a new laminate in order to offer a Cordura face.

Finally, this gives you a good comparison of BFG’s Helium Whisper technology compared to the legacy PALS attachment.

BFG is prepared to support agency and unit orders now. The Helium Whisper line will be available for individual purchase beginning in January, 2012.

AUSA – Revision Military

20111010-101745.jpg

Revision Military’s Batlskin technology is making its US debut at AUSA. Batlskin is a modular, scalable head protective system. It integrates with existing ballistic helmets (ACH) With a front mount that does three things. You can integrate NVGs offering increased stability by using existing holes in the helmet. Additionally, you can use the mount to attach a visor and finally, the mount also accepts a mandible guard. The components can be attached and detached while the helmet is worn allowing you to tailor protection to the threat.

Additionally, Revision has developed a helmet retention system and liner that is optimized for use with the ACH. It can be used to upgrade your current helmet or in conjunction with the full Batlskin Head Protective Sysyem. The liner is a three piece affair which helps with proper pad placement for impactrotection. This means the middle pad can be removed to accommodate headsets.

AUSA – WL Gore

Monday, October 10th, 2011

WL Gore debuted their new GORE PYRAD FR fabric at AUSA. What’s unique about this technology is that Gore takes standard nylon-based fabrics and hardens them with the PYRAD technology. This allows them to exploit all of nylon’s strengths such as fast dry out time as well as enhanced camouflage through colorfastness and enhanced UV resistance. Additionally, this technology takes full advantage of the existing fabric supply change with the material being processed by Gore to create PYRAD.
