Wolfhawk – The Knife That Mounts On Your Rifle

Normally, a knife that mounts on your rifle its called a bayonet, unless it’s the Wolfhawk. A joint venture between Battle Blades and TOPS Knives, the Wolfhawk series utilizes a sheath that incorporates a Mil Std 1913 rail compatible mount.

Offered in two blade (Hunter and Tanto) and two handle (micarta and paracord) versions, it features a 3-1/4″ blade made from 1095 High Carbon steel (RC 56-58).

When I see things like this that are done simply because they can be, I fear we have invented everything.

Rough Creek Shoot Out

Presented by Craft International, the Rough Creek Shoot Out is touted as a civilian training event. Limited to just 45 guests, it offers 3 days of training with Chris Kyle and the crew from Craft.

There are 3 blocks of training – Pistol and Carbine, Precision Rifle and Hand to Hand along with an optional 4th block with full auto weapons that is limited to just 25 participants and will set you back an extra $1000 on top of the $2000 the base program runs.

The event will be held at Rough Creek a 4500 acre, 5 star resort.

Shellback / TAG Products Receive NTOA Cerification

According to Tactical Assault Gear, both the Shellback Tactical Banshee and its radio pouch are now National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) certified. This is really big news for the Banshee product family. The Banshee scored 4.42 out of 5 and the radio pouch scored 4.58 out of 5 -two really great scores. Well Done!

SOCOM Purchases New Armor Plates

According the the Department of Defense, on 21 September 2012 –

Leading Technology Composites Inc., Wichita, Kansas, is being awarded a firm-fixed-price contract (92222-12-0-0024), for the purchase or Special Operations Forces personal equipment advanced requirements ballistic plates in support of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The contract value is not to exceed $24,912,093. The work will be performed in Wichita, Kan., and delivery will be completed by September 2013. U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity.

Princeton Tec Gains Praise for American Manufacturing by Secretary of Labor

US Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis recently visited Bordentown, New Jersey’s Princeton Tec during a nationwide tour promoting American businesses. SHe called Princeton Tech “a true American success story” and assembled her own Spectrum custom headlamp program.

Solis addressed the company stating, “We bring back this renaissance in manufacturing, creating products that we can sell and compete with other countries and other businesses abroad.”
