Black Collar Arms Priapus Grip

Saturday, January 21st, 2023

Leander, TX (01/19/2023) – The perfect hybrid of precision rifle and tactical, the Black Collar Arms Priapus Grip delivers the hand positioning, shape, and control of a PRS-style grip with the size, circumference, and light weight of a tactical AR-style grip. It’s the first precision grip that you can also run and gun with. But wait, there’s more!…

The recessed, smooth fields on all four sides of the Priapus Grip are specifically designed for the application of skateboard grip tape (just like our Black Box magazine). This allows the end user to customize the aggressiveness and color/pattern of the Priapus Grip’s grip texture. One set of grip tape panels is included, and additional sets are just $5.

At launch, laser-cut sand texture grip tape panels are available in Black, Gray, OD Green, and Brown, as well as rubber pebble texture in Black. These grip tape panels are easily applied by the end user and are durable and reliable, yet remove cleanly should you want to swap them out.

We particularly like running a rubber pebble texture panel on the side that faces the shooter’s body when carrying the rifle on a sling, and sand texture on the rest.

Skateboard sand texture does not slip, wet or dry. It’s insanely grippy in all conditions yet it feels good in the palm of your hand.

Rubber pebble texture offers a medium grip level but is very comfortable against skin and won’t scuff up clothing or scratch things.

The Priapus Grip is symmetrical with a mild palm swell, an arched backstrap that drives the hand into the correct position, and a nearly vertical, relatively square front strap that’s both comfortable and highly indexable.

On any rifle or large format pistol, from full-size PRS guns to subguns, the Priapus Grip’s unique shape, angle, size, and grip textures ensure it feels right at home and outperforms the competition. It’s the best AR-compatible grip on the market!

MSRP is $39.99, but it’s on sale for $35 for pre-order customers only!

Multi-Capable Airmen Lead the Way for 443rd AES

Saturday, January 21st, 2023

AL ASAD AIR BASE, Iraq (AFNS) —

A team of Multi-Capable Airmen at Al Asad Air Base stepped out of their traditional responsibilities to become vital force multipliers for joint and coalition partners across the installation.

Embracing MCA, a defender and a client systems technician from the 443rd Air Expeditionary Squadron became skilled in communication capabilities and setting up technical communication equipment, taking it upon themselves to become proficient in skills they traditionally wouldn’t have been required to learn.

This drive started from the moment they arrived. By capitalizing on an opportunity to innovate and increase efficient and effective communication capabilities for the Airmen around him, Senior Airman Byron McNeill Jr., 443rd AES supply and security forces fireteam lead, decided to face the challenge head-on.

McNeill crafted a plan alongside Staff Sgt. Daniel Meeks, 443rd AES client systems technician, within a few days of arriving on the installation.

“I knew that we had a frequency that was supposed to work but didn’t, and I knew that we should be getting further range with our radios than what they were getting,” McNeill said. “My leadership gave me the chance, and I just took the opportunity and ran with it. Then, it was just collaborating with everyone around me and finding out trial and errors with the radios.”

A defender coming to the 443rd AES with prior radio operation experience, McNeill’s collaboration with Meeks has paid dividends for the installation.

“We call each other almost every day asking each other about things,” Meeks said. “He’s strong-willed with what he wants done and he gets it done. It’s been easygoing with him. We’ve improved our communication capabilities already in just our first month of being here.”

Feeding off each other’s skill sets, they have raised three communication antennas and boosted long-range communications in multiple mine-resistant ambush protected all-terrain vehicles. They assisted and reprogrammed Norwegian Armed Forces radios and were able to get communication capabilities immediately restored. McNeill and Meeks have also held classes with other 443rd AES defenders, giving them the skills to troubleshoot their communication equipment and change their radio frequencies to respond to any situation.

Ensuring communication capabilities are effective and efficient for others, while teaching the next Multi-Capable Airman, is what continues to fuel both.

“Communication is the biggest thing in any scenario,” McNeill said. “Being able to give the warfighter the ability to talk to one another and to talk to higher-ups, brings it all together. There are no mistakes when good communication is in play.”

SHOT Show 23 – B&T’s APC9 Limited & SPC223

Friday, January 20th, 2023

B&T USA is displaying their APC9 & SPC223 carbines.

The 9mm APC9 features an aluminum lower receiver with flared magwell and Elftman Tactical trigger. The MBT stock folds and offers 3-position comb and length of pull adjustment.

The handguard incorporates MLOK with a full length Picatinny rail at 12 o’clock.

Offered only in SBR configuration, they can be had with 8.9″ or 6.7″ barrel but there are only 500 of each available.

Chambered in .223, the SPC223 will not be available until late this year. It’s B&T’s take on a black rifle with a hydraulic buffer system and is full ambidextrous. The prototype you see here is a DI gun with a 10-position adjustable gas block, optimized for suppression, but the production model will likely be piston driven.

Coming in 11.5″ and 16″ barrel length. There will also be a .300 BLK model with a shorter barrel.

Mounted to this SPC223 is the MARS suppressor, a super lightweight can at 14 oz which was designed for a USMC requirement.
