Silynx Updates Website ADS

Friday, December 31st, 2010

Silynx has updated their website. They offer a variety of communications solutions and as we reported earlier this year, the C4OPS headset system is fully programmable and is the system of choice for many of world’s most elite forces. Not only does Silynx regularly provide software updates, but they have built a system that can integrate with communications equipment from other vendors. Not only that, but it’s available in MultiCam, so no more big black PTT boxes on your chest.

One of the coolest upgrades to the site is the new “Build Your Own” interface. It allows you to configure a C4OPS system based on your actual requirements.

Silynx has also developed some very useful battery cables for those using the MBITR.

If you are in the market for specialized communication equipment, Silynx has your solution. Don’t forget, ADS can supply the entire Silynx line up to your unit or agency.

Snugpak Adds MultiCam

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Considering the British military adopted a MultiCam derivative camouflage dubbed Multi Terrain Pattern, it’s no wonder MultiCam is becoming a big hit with UK manufacturers. Considering the US Army and Air Force have also adopted MultiCam for operations in Afghanistan under the name of OCP and that the Australians have followed suit, it’s quite simply good business. Oddly enough, MultiCam has done more to unite the English speaking militaries than anything since the adoption of 5.56mm. It seems that only Canada is the odd fellow in this one.

But I digress. UK manufacturer Snugpak has begun to introduce clothing in the MultiCam pattern. Long popular with UK and Allied Soldiers, Snugpak’s loft insulation garments compress well. The Sleeka has begun to show up for sale in a reversible MultiCam to Tan variant. Look for more garments and availability in the US soon.

Princeton Tec in MultiCam at Extreme Outfitters

In the same tradition as three wise men following a star well into the night, U.S. and allied troops now have a chance to see the light as they deploy far away from home during the holidays.

From the same folks who brought the first initial U.S. shipment of Blackhawk! packs and pouches in the new MultiCam pattern, Extreme Outfitters is now offering Tan Princeton Tec headlamps with headbands also in the new MultiCam print.

Patrons at their Brynn Marr Shopping Center location on Western Boulevard and those who are finding their way to the website at www.tacticaledge.com, are taking advantage of the limited-time-offer discount of 25 percent off retail for the popular Remix, EOS Tactical and Quad Tactical models.

“They’re nice and bright,” said active duty Marine Derek Paquin. “They’re easy to use for multiple purposes.”
The Quad Tactical model has a wide beam to highlight the immediate area up to 35 meters away on the brightest of four settings.

The EOS Tactical model has a narrower beam to spotlight greater distances up to 54 meters on the brightest of four settings.

Both tactical models are waterproof to about three feet, have interchangeable blue, green and red lenses and take three included AAA batteries that power four settings of low, medium, high and flash modes.

The Remix model headlamp features three single-color LEDs, either red or green or blue or infrared, next to a larger white maxbright LED both with separate high and low settings powered by the included CR123 three-volt light.

The new headlamps just arrived over the Christmas weekend, but are only available while supplies last.
“They’re probably one of our top-selling headlamps,” said Extreme Outfitters purchasing manager Zakk Plocica. “They’ll go fast.”

Hot Off the Press: Extreme Outfitters First in US to Offer Blackhawk Gear in MultiCam

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

We just heard about this this morning and it’s pretty exciting news for Blackhawk! fans. BPG introduced a range of products in MultiCam in Europe earlier this year. In the interim, the Army adopted the pattern as the operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern. Consequently, Extreme Outfitters politiced to bring those products here in the US as well. In stock now.

THE ONLY PLACE IN THE COUNTRY

JACKSONVILLE, NC – All eyes are on the Brynn Marr Shopping Center on Western Boulevard this week as hundreds of the latest Blackhawk! MultiCam items arrived.
“We’re the first ones to get it – the only place in the country,” said Extreme Outfitters store manager Marion Plocica. “There are 2600 items – between 50 to 100 of each of a select group of products.”
The shipment includes pouches, packs, patrol belts, drop-leg platforms, medical bags, sniper drag bags and shooting mats – just to name a few. The gear in the new MultiCam camouflage pattern is so fresh from the factory that there aren’t many photographs of the original items available.
“It’s so new the manufacturer doesn’t even have pictures yet,” said Extreme Outfitters marketing director Chris Evans.
These are all in such high demand with a rapid military deployment schedule due to all the action in Afghanistan, that VIP customers can use their traditional 10 percent discount alone, but not in conjunction with any other specials.

According to Plocica, the gear is fresh for the holidays and in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, as U.S. troops keep American interests safe miles away from home and far from their families.

Firestorm Combat Shirt from ICE Tactical

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

From Integrated Combat Equipment comes the new Firestorm Combat Shirt. It features a 10″ zippered front as well as inset bicep pockets with zippered openings and velcro patches. The big story here is obviously the fabric. The entire shirt is made from a Berry Compliant 7.5oz Jersey knit unlike other combat shirts that combine knits and wovens. The material is a 71% Modacrylic, 24% FR Rayon, 5% Spandex blend that passes the vertical flame test for FR. Additionally, it has an anti-microbial treatment and a moisture management treatment meaning less stink. Berry compliant and available in any color as long as it’s MultiCam, sizes S-XXL. The fit is not as tight as other combat shirts.

So, to sum up: FR, lightweight, 100% knit, anti-microbial, and Berry Compliant. We have been waiting to write about these until they are actually in stock. Available for order now.
