SOTECH Debuts Their Springnose Taser 10/7 Holster, Airborne Cobra and Light Infantry Suspension System

SOTech will be unveiling an array of new product designs at SHOT Show this year. We’ve spent the better part of 2023 conducting field tests and interviewing soldiers from the 82nd ABN, Ranger Regt, Special Forces and 25th ID developing our Light Infantry Suspension System, Airborne Cobra Pack, and medical systems. These tests are culminating in review by the Army over upcoming months. The LISS supports ensembles including rifleman, medic, leader, SAW gunner, grenadier and breacher which will be on display. After dominating the soft-shell market for Axon Tasers for 25 years, SOTECH launches its first plastic holster. Rather than adopting a pistol holster to a taser, SOTECH designed the Springnose TM around the features and requirements of both a Taser 7 and Taser 10. We worked closely with LAPD Training Division to absorb their requirements and lessons learned. We came up with a holster design that encompassed these features:

• Accessed with either strong hand or weekhand draw.

• Slim body design takes minimal space on the belt.

• Downward and rearward draw eliminates accidental weapon misidentification.

• Compressing taser against spring plate and rotating rearward provides quick draw.

• Extra retention strap with thumb snap is removable, and sewn semi rigid.

• Secondary weapon release provided by thumb depression of top hook.

• Officer can screw adjust to forward, vertical, or rearward cant.

• Officer can rearrange holster to right or left-hand wear.

• Field repairable as bottom cap is removable for access to spring compartment.

• Belt clip secures with unique inverted buttons.

• Belt clip fits 2 ¼ patrol belt and inner clip fits dress belts.

Saab Signs GlobalEye Support Contract with UAE

Saab and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defence have signed a contract and Saab has received an order regarding in-service support for the GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) solution. The order value is approximately USD 190 million with a three-year contract period that runs until 2026.

The contract includes maintenance and logistics support, as well as training services.

“This agreement solidifies Saab’s role in ensuring that GlobalEye remains mission-ready. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with the UAE Air Force and Air Defence and providing long-term local support,” says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s business area Surveillance.

GlobalEye is an advanced multi-domain AEW&C solution with an array of active and passive sensors that provide long-range detection and identification of objects in the air, at sea and over land.

By providing real-time information to units in air forces, armies and navies, GlobalEye enables enhanced situational awareness of the surrounding areas and early detection of threats.

Unity Tactical Unveils Integrated Magnifier at SHOT Show 2024

New FAST™ FTC 4X is the first integrated magnifier on the market

UNITY™ Tactical, a designer of components that integrate tactical systems and optimize the human factor, unveiled the market’s first integrated 4X magnifier at SHOT Show 2024. The FAST™ FTC 4X brings the magnifier up to the established FAST height of a 2.26″ optical centerline from the rail. Integrating the mount with the optic shaves weight, increases strength and ensures streamlined functionality with no occlusion of the primary optic when stowed.

“Since launching our FAST line in 2019 we’ve aimed to expand the optic compatibility of our mounts so that discerning professionals and enthusiasts alike can benefit from an ergonomically correct heads-up posture,” said Mike Roth, vice president of business development.

Designed for use with a red dot optic mounted at the same height, the FAST FTC 4X provides ultimate picture clarity, utilizing the dot in the primary optic as the aiming reticle. This allows the shooter to quickly shift between non-magnified (stowed) and magnified (deployed). The magnifier can be mounted on multiple weapons platforms behind a red dot sight or used as a hand-held monocular.

The optical glass provides a clear and durable sighting solution while UNITY’s FTC (flip-to-center) technology allows for easy stowage when not in use. The magnifier has a field of view at 100 yards of 30.1 feet or 9.2 meters. Eye relief is 2.6 inches or 67 mm.

SilencerCo Releases Three New Suppressors at SHOT Show 2024

January 23, 2024 — West Valley City, UT — SilencerCo is excited to release three new suppressors at SHOT Show this year. The Spectre 9, Velos 5.56 K and Velos LBP 7.62 will all be on display at SilencerCo’s SHOT Show booth (#10560) . These suppressors are a direct result of numerous customer requests. They will all be available to purchase on silencerco.com and through retailers in early February.

The Spectre 9 is the next evolution in SilencerCo’s collection of titanium suppressors. It’s completely constructed from titanium and designed for pistol and subgun platforms. The Spectre 9 is compatible with 9mm and subsonic 300 BLK. It’s extremely lightweight at only 3.9 ounces with no mounts. It offers competitive sound performance for suppressors in its size category. It’s also full-auto rated, and one of the few suppressors that can run on a full-auto Glock.

The Velos 5.56 K and Velos LBP 7.62 are variations of SilencerCo’s first low back pressure silencer, the Velos 5.56 LBP. The Velos K is a shorter version of the original Velos at just 4.76 inches. It still provides the shooter with the benefits of reduced gas, but in a compact and maneuverable package. The Velos 7.62 will accommodate calibers up to .300 RUM for compatibility with more host firearms.
