Revitalizing the Subcompact: Grey Ghost Precision Releases a new GGP-26 Slide

November 14th, 2019
GGP-26 Slide

Introducing the GGP-26 Slide

Wallace, ID – If you thought Grey Ghost Precision was done innovating GLOCK® slides, you’d be dead wrong. The double-stack subcompact wonder known as the G26 just got its own GGP slide with a killer new serration pattern that you’ve never seen before.

Having already engineered their G19, G17 and even SPG43 slides with tightened tolerances in multiple unique patterns, you might be asking yourself why the G26? According to GGP VP of Firearms Jason Curns, the G26 is still a widely used sidearm that many professionals use as a backup, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of concealed carriers that use the G26 as their EDC pistol. “The GGP-26 slide benefits from the same accuracy-improving tolerances that we’ve seen from our GGP-17 and GGP-19 slides. With a shorter barrel, any buff to your G26’s accuracy is a welcome improvement. Dropping in our slide with its critical tolerances (along with using a match grade barrel) should tighten your group sizes… if you, the shooter, are doing your job of course!”

GGP-26 Slide

The GGP-26 is a stripped aftermarket upgrade for your OEM G26 slide

In addition to the match grade properties of the slide’s tolerances, Grey Ghost Precision also gave the GGP-26 slide a unique slide cut that stands apart from the 6+ slide patterns that can be seen in their product lines. The front of the slide has a deep taper with stepped serrations, within that they get deeper as they progress toward the chamber area. It’s like a sunken living room for your sausage fingers that ends with a substantial ledge for ultimate leverage during press checks and malfunction clearing. “In a gunfight, every millisecond matters,” says GGP Engineer Jason Fancher. “The deep front serration is our most aggressive design yet, and for good reason. If it’s ‘go time’ and the pistol in your hands is a subcompact, you’ll need the ability to charge it and manipulate it with authority.” The rear serrations mimic this design, but at a standard depth.

GGP-26 Slide

The front step serrations gradually get deeper the further back they go.

Let’s talk about optics. Mounting a Micro Red Dot Sight (MRDS) on your pistol slide has become easier than ever in this day and age. GGP is no stranger to this, as their existing GLOCK® slides all have optics cuts pre-milled and tapped for some of the most popular combat proven optic sights. The GGP-26 slide is no exception, as it comes with their hybrid optic cut right out of the box. This cut allows either a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro to be mounted directly, or a Trijicon RMR/SRO with the addition of a slim shim plate that ensures a snug fit to the slide. Two popular optic footprints, and all without the need for bulky adapter plates that would only raise the optic above the bore axis. The result is low-profile and rock solid, just what you should expect from a company like Grey Ghost Precision.

GGP-26 Slide

The GGP-26 comes with a g10 coverplate and a this shim plate that converts the Leupold DPP footprint to a Trijicon RMR/SRO footprint.

GGP also includes their custom cover plate made from G10 that attractively covers the optic mount when not in use. So put away those typewriters, all you irons-only folks.

As for availability, GGP-26 slides are available now on GGP’s website for $429.99 MSRP. Considering GGP also manufactures match-grade barrels for the other GLOCK® slide offerings, it’s safe to say that GGP-26 barrels are on their way. If you want to upgrade your G26 with a GGP-26 slide, they are available at https://greyghostprecision.com/ggp-glock-26-gen-3-4-stripped-slide/

Be sure to subscribe to the Grey Ghost Precision email list to be alerted as more new products  become available.

GGP-26 Specs:

  • All slides are stripped slides
  • Machined from 17-4 Billet Stainless Steel to have tighter tolerances than a factory slide
  • Stainless steel slide cut and Black Nitride Coated inside and out
  • Dual optic cutout for Trijicon RMR or Leupold DeltaPoint Pro (shim plate included)
  • Deep, aggressive front and rear serrations

Ellsworth & Co – Tropical Mesh Sock

November 14th, 2019

At Modern Day Marine I ran across something different, socks of a new construction to be exact. Since then, I’ve worn a pair of their new Tropical Socks on several occasions, and I really like them.

Ellsworth uses a V Channel construction in the sole of the sock which is a 3-Dimensional design of knit-in Vapor Channels, offering sweat a path of least resistance to escape from under the foot. This they say, will help resist the formation of blisters. They’ve combined this with a mesh upper and non-slip top so they won’t fall down.

You can see in the photo below how distinctive the V Channel is compared to standard nap.

Here’s a video of a dye test they use to show how the sock moves moisture.

Milipol Paris 2019: WeaponLogic Unveils, for the first time at Milipol, the WeaponLogic Eco Systems for the Management of Large Caliber Weapon System Fleets

November 14th, 2019

Utilizing Artificial Intelligence, the system delivers comprehensive usage data regarding the weapon’s operational status, ensuring optimized performance and a tactical edge

Milipol Paris 2019, France, November 19-22, Hall 5, Stand C038

November 11, 2019. WeaponLogic (Secubit) ? a leader in advanced weapon readiness and maintenance solutions for global military and paramilitary forces as well as law enforcement and HLS agencies ? unveils for the first time at Milipol Paris the WeaponLogic™ Eco Systems for the management of large caliber weapon system fleets. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence, the system delivers comprehensive usage data regarding the weapon’s operational status, ensuring optimized performance and a tactical edge. This solution for heavy weaponry is the company’s latest development, expanding its established line of systems for the management of light weaponry that provides precision, preemptive maintenance to customers in countries across Europe, North America and Asia. The systems for both light and heavy weapons will be presented at Milipol.

WeaponLogic’s advanced system, based on artificial intelligence, supplies data for maintenance as well as operational and tactical optimization according to actual use. The solution was already evaluated with outstanding results for several large caliber firearms including mortars, artillery and tank cannons. The system’s sophisticated algorithm collects and records comprehensive weapon firing data in real time and delivers updated status information regarding the current state of the weapon and the potential for future malfunctions, based on the degree of wear and tear exerted on the weapon during usage. This data enables the creation of a relevant, customized maintenance plan for each specific device.

The system consists of a Sensor and Applications.

WeaponLogic Smart Sensor – The sensor is a chip that fully integrates into any type of weapon: pistol, rifle, sniper rifle, crew-served weapon and mortar.  It comes in a variety of form factors to accommodate different firearms. The chip records and gathers information in real time regarding the use of the weapon ? including the amount and type of ammunition used, rate of fire, single or automatic shots, dry fires and drops, time signature, and type of weapon. WeaponLogic Smart Sensor utilizes AI to distill information regarding the weapon and its operational state. The sensor weighs only 20 grams and has over a million-shot memory.

WeaponLogic Applications – The Reader and Dashboard applications provide a complete weapon and operator profile. A smart algorithm processes a unique signal to define and analyze data gathered from all smart sensors.  The applications offer a user-friendly interface and an ability to manage the maintenance of the weapons, including but not limited to: round counts, assigned users, service history, service recommendations, armorer maintenance history, battery status, etc.

Both applications provide usage data and analytics reflecting the weapon’s operational status for preventive and precise maintenance, along with inventory management and tactical features.

WeaponLogic’s Head of Sales, Ruby Shasha, expressed great satisfaction with the company’s recent win, remarking, “We are proud to announce that, following rigorous testing, we have received an order from the customer for the supply of the WeaponLogic system for mortars to a European country, with the system already in operational use. WeaponLogic has been selected and is being used in a number of countries around the world ? rapidly gaining popularity due to its ease of operation, its significant impact on resource savings, and its suitability for a wide range of weapons and artillery.”
