December 16th, 2016

0001

Allied Risk Equipment Consulting Ltd is a newly formed multi-disciplinary company based in the UK. AREC specialises in consultancy, manufactures representing agents and where appropriate product distribution. Founder Richard Bell having been involved in the industry for some considerable time has divided it into three high-level demographics; Combative, Defensive and Recreational. Richard is working closely with several Global manufactures that are looking to expand within the UK and European markets. AREC also supports local, UK and European based manufactures in order to increase their opportunities and exposure in a wider market place.

AREC’s focus is not just on the companies / products but just as importantly in Richard’s opinion on the people as well as the culture, ethos, mentality, commitment and professionalism of those companies. Richard feels that knowing the provenance and history of how that company or product formed certainly helps him and ultimately an end user understand what they are buying and why it will have a positive impact on their personal or professional lives.
The companies that AREC has a strong desire to support are those made up of active or ex-service men / women or employee ex-service men / women who are looking to transition into a civilian life. Or they will also have close ties and / or support those in the Military, Police and Emergency Services.

Ideally the focus for AREC is to work with companies who are not only based in Allied / Coalition countries but will endeavour to source as much of the materials, production and staff from those countries.

With the launch of Allied Risk Equipment Consulting they are pleased to announce the 1st ‘Pro-staff’ appointment. Mark Jarvis, based in the UK is bringing with him a vast range of expertise and experience across a wide range of disciplines.

Raven Concealment Systems Introduces “Roland Special” Phantom Holster Variant

December 15th, 2016

This version of RCS’s Phantom LC holster was created with direct feedback from Presscheck Consulting, to ensure that the weapon and holster are perfectly suited for their intended application.

In addition to its unique, aggressive looks, the Roland Special Phantom LC comes with a brand-new belt-attachment accessory: The Drop/Offset kit. This kit consists of a drop-bracket and a spacer, which allows the shooter to add drop, offset, or both to the ride of the holster. This makes the holster configurable for more direct-action roles.

The kit also comes with a set of 1.5” Pancake Wings, which, when attached directly to the holster body, pull the weapon in tight for optimal concealed-carry roles.  Additionally, this kit includes a set of Quick-Mount Straps (QMS) which allow rapid donning and doffing of the holster.

This holster fits the following variants of Glock 19 pistols with Surefire X-300 U/A/B:
ATEI Roland Special
Glock 19 MOS
Glock Gen 3 G19
Glock Gen 4 G19
Agency Arms G19
Zev Tech G19
Fowler Industries G19
WOTG Tomahawk G19
Boresight Solutions G19

Barrels that fit the above configurations:
Stock G19
Threaded G19
KKM Comp Barrel
Texas Black Rifle Company Comp

Triple Aught Design – Protocol Jacket

December 15th, 2016

I am super excited about this launch. First off, it’s on a Thursday rather than the normal Friday launch day for Triple Aught Design. Second, it’s a blazer. The team at TAD hinted at this when I was out there in September, but I had no idea it would be this nice. Based on the photos, I think the Protocol will be great for those of you looking for a travel blazer. Now I know I just got a new blazer form another company, but a fella can have two, right? Maybe Mrs SSD will read this and get me one for Christmas.

Having a tailor isn’t quite the mark of a gentleman that it used to be, but a great fitting blazer still is.

Made from Ventile, it is unlined and incorporates both a bi-swing back as well as a single vent amking itba great warm weather jacket. Additionally, TAD has finished the Protocol with their signature taped buttons, functional cuffs, and double welted, tuckable pocket flaps. This is a sporty looking coat.

Ventile, originally designed in the UK, is densely woven from 100% cotton using the world’s finest long staple fibre. Its secret lies in the uncoated and non-laminated construction. The performance of Ventile® fabrics results from the properties of cotton fibres which expand in a uniform manner when they come into contact with water. This allows the interstices within the fabric to close up, preventing the further passage of water. In addition to this, Ventile is impregnated with a high quality DWR system which enhances the fabrics water resistant properties and increases performance. The fabric therefore provides excellent protection against the wind, rain, snow and cold, and a unique level of comfort that is highly breathable, very durable and quiet.

Features:
-Bi-swing back and single vent for enhanced mobility
-TAD signature slotted buttons at front and functional cuff closures
-Double welted front pockets with tuckable pocket flaps
-Single ticket pocket and dual internal welted pockets
-Field repair buttons included inside
