USAF Sniper “Top Shot” George Reinas Teams up with DRIFIRE at SHOT Show

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

DRIFIRE is partnering with History Channel’s “Top Shot” celebrity George Reinas for 2012 SHOT Show. DRIFIRE will be showcasing its line of flame resistant military apparel made using patented drirelease® technology and George will be sharing his personal account on DRIFIRE’s performance apparel that helped keep him safe, comfortable, and protected.

He will also be available to meet fans and sign autographs at the DRIFIRE booth (#27311) at the following times during the show:

January 17th – 8:30-11:00am; 2:00-4:00 pm
January 18th – 8:30-11:00am; 2:00-4:00 pm
January 19th – 8:30-11:00am; 2:00-4:00 pm
January 20th – 8:30-11:00am; 2:00-4:00 pm

“I became a firm believer in the DRIFIRE brand from the first time I wore it,” said Reinas, a U.S. Air Force sniper, “it was 56 degrees out, pouring rain for eight straight hours, and I didn’t have any rain gear. The performance technologies in DRIFIRE garments helped prevent me from getting hypothermia. Since then, I’ve been a loyal DRIFIRE fan.”

George Reinas is a certified military, civilian and SWAT sniper, and an Air Force Sniper School instructor. He starred in season two of the History Channel’s series “Top Shot.”

“We are excited to have George share his first-hand account of the benefits of DRIFIRE technology. The performance properties in DRIFIRE fabrics and garments not only rapidly wick moisture away from the skin, but quickly evaporate moisture from the fabric, keeping wearers more dry, comfortable, and protected for the duration of exposure to the harshest of conditions,” said Chris Moore, Executive Vice President of Research Product Development.

Announcing Insight Racing

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

An exciting new partnership has been brewing in late 2011 and we are happy to announce that in 2012, Jeff Westphal Racing and Tactical Night Vision Company will be working together during Jeff’s Grand Am Continental Sports Car campaign with Insight Racing in the #19 BMW M3.

Jeff Westphal was introduced to TNVC CEO, Victor Di Cosola at Infineon Raceway while attending Jim Russell Racing School (now Simraceway Performance Driving) where the two had a significant amount of business similarities, making it a wise choice for a technical partnership. “TNVC and Victor operate with a high level of precision, which helps give our military and law enforcement customers an advantage over the opposition, the same type of attention to detail and precision that I look for in a race team. I have been working with Insight Racing since mid 2011, and they are the perfect ally to have with the JWR and TNVC partnership as their endurance racing background is so detail dependent and oriented.” Explained Jeff “TNVC and I will be working together with Insight Racing to help bring awareness of tactical equipment for consumers around the globe, as well as expand business opportunities for industry related companies.”

TNVC is a California based company with operations based in Wisconsin and California.. They supply many branches of the US Government, and U.S. Law Enforcement with Night Vision products and training. Victor Di Cosola, The President/CEO was and is adamant about creating a knowledgeable company for people to learn about and purchase proper night vision equipment, the type and quality resource he would have loved during his early years. “I take much pride in being able to help save the lives of our boys overseas, anything I can do to give them a leg up on the opposition, TNVC is ready to support them. I have a great respect for what our troops go through, as well as any professional in their industry. To be at the top of your craft in anything it takes much dedication and skill, so I am confident TNVC has partnered with the right people in motorsports to help elevate the image of all the parties involved.” Said Victor.

You will be able to catch Jeff Westphal and TNVC in the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Series races with the Insight Racing #19 BMW M3, broadcast on Speed channel.

Come meet Jeff in person at the TNVC Booth at the 2012 SHOT Show: Booth #6502.

Revision Introduces Sawfly Photochromic Eyewear System

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Revision is introducing the Sawfly Photochromic Eyewear System. It features the ballistic photochromic Sawfly lens automatically darkens to a sunglass tint when exposed to sunlight and returns to its clear state in the absence of UV rays, providing a tactical edge in rapidly changing environments.

“Revision’s photochromic lens technology not only eliminates the need to switch lenses when transitioning between the indoors and outside, but also automatically adjusts to compensate for varying outdoor light levels allowing the end user to focus on his mission, not his eyepro,” commented Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision. Revision’s Photochromic Sawfly lens takes only 60 seconds to change from its darkest state to almost clear, while most competitors’ lenses take more than twice as long to do the same. From the clear state to a light-grey lens tint capable of blocking sun glare, it takes only 20 seconds. “For military and tactical operators, faster photochromic lens change means enhanced visual performance when it’s most needed – in dynamic environments.”

Revision eyewear exceeds ANSI Z87.1-2010 and U.S. military ballistic impact requirements for spectacles (MIL-PRF-31013 clause 3.5.1.1) while providing flawless optics and 100% UV protection. Look for them in March 2012.

They will be in SHOT Show booth #26011.
