ADS has announced that former Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Conway (USMC, Ret) is the key-note speaker for the 2018 Warrior Expo East. According to ADS, he’ll likely address leadership, teambuilding, crisis management, U.S. challenges five to ten years out, and the military’s energy sources in the field.

Before being named commandant, General Conway’s postings included serving as the director of operations (J-3) on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force from 2002–2004, where he took part in the 2003 invasion of Iraq and Operation Vigilant Resolve in Fallujah, Iraq.

Conway began his military career as an infantry officer in 1970, with his first assignment being command of a rifle platoon with 3rd Battalion 1st Marines out of Camp Pendleton. He later served as Marine executive officer aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He graduated with honors from the Army’s Infantry Officers Advanced Course. As a field grade officer, he commanded two companies of students, teaching tactics at the Basic School, where marines learn the art and science of being an officer. ADS Inc / Phokus Research Group / Cardiac Science – AED and Bleeding Control Pack

Wednesday, July 20th, 2016

At Warrior East, I found out that ADS Inc, Phokus Research Group and Cardiac Science have teamed up to offer an AED and Bleeding Control Pack solution for wall mount installation.  Not that many years ago, Automated External Defibrillators were only used by medical personnel and it was rare to find one outside of a medical facility.  Today, they are more sophisticated and found everywhere.  They are used to restart the heart after a sudden cardiac arrest which can strike those with a variety of conditions.

Unfortunately, mass casualty events such as mass shootings have become more common over the past few years so it seems obvious to combine a Cardiac Science AED with Phokus Research Group’s bleeding control packs.

In addition to the Cardiac Science AED, the box also contains a kit filled with Individual Bleeding Control Kits consisting of Quickclot dressing, Tourniquet, Z-fold sterile frog gauze, chest seals, medical frog tape, nitrile gloves and a rescue blanket. What’s more, the wall mounted boxes can be alarmed to alert medical and security personnel when they are used.

Available for agency and unit purchase through ADS Inc.

The rear incorporates BFG’s Helium Whisper attachment system.

High Gear Evolution ADAPTIV

Sunday, July 17th, 2016

During last week’s Warrior East, former SEAL and his assistants conducted a couple of combatives demonstrations while wearing Adaptiv suits from LBX Tactical.

This video featuring Dom and Tony Blauer will give you some background on the High Gear suits which are available through LBX Tactical. While High Gear suits protect the user, they are built in such a way to allow the wearer to feel hits unlike other suits on the market which cocoon the wearer and result in unrealistic training.

Warrior East – Scubapro Helmet Dive Mask

Friday, July 15th, 2016

Scubapro has come up with an adapter for their dive masks which allow them to be connected into Ops-Core’s ARC rail fitted to a FAST Helmet in a manner similar to O2 masks for MFF ops. This device really increases the versatility of the FAST Helmet.

Here, it’s fitted to the Synergy Twin mask but the straps can be used with any of Scubapro’s masks with these quick attach clips. The strap can easily be swapped out for a traditional behind-the-head version when needed.

Look for 4th quarter availability.
