Blue Force Gear Introduces SPLITminus Chest Rig

Lots of folks were very interested in Blue Force Gear’s RACKminus minimalist chest rig but wanted the convenience of a split front setup. BFG listened and has just announced the SPLITminus entry to their MOLLEminus line which is the perfect complement for their highly popular Helium Whisper pouch technology. The panels are cut from a single sheet of ULTRAcomp material rather than layers of separately cut nylon. This makes for a lighter overall construction.

SPLITminus integrates two side-release buckles into the design to facilitate donning and doffing yet still weighs in at 250 grams which is 5 grams lighter than the RACKminus. This is due to the strip of load carrying real estate removed up front to accommodate the buckles meaning each side has MOLLE fields of 6 columns by 3 rows. Currently in MultiCam only.

MATBOCK PTT Clamp

Generally, members of SOF units are only issued one or two Push-to-Talks (PTTs) that have to be interchanged between three or four different sets of kit. On top of this you also have to deal with different camo patterns. And then, there’s the actual mounting based on operational preferences and unit SOP. Some guys like to wear their PTTs on the right or left side, some times with the buttons facing out and some times with the buttons facing in. Standard PTT clips don’t allow for all these variations nor do they make it easy to interchange the PTTs between different carriers so most guys end up with zip ties or rubber bands to get what you need out of their PTT.

MATBOCK’s patent pending “PTT Clamp” addresses these problems that confront one of the most important parts of combat, communication. The PTT Clamp was designed so that users can mount a clamp to every carrier, either by Velcro or MOLLE. The PTT Clamps are prepositioned on each carrier to eliminate tinkering with gear, allowing the Operator to simply and securely fit the Push-To-Talks into the Clamp on each set of gear and route the wires.

The Nexus PTT is very popular throughout a lot of SOF units, but these PTTs are prone to being inadvertently depressed. Consequently, MATBOCK designed the PTT Clamp – Nexus model with an “anti-hot mic” cage that will significantly reduce the chance for button being depressed.

Made in the USA, Hydrographic Kydex is available in Desert Digital, Woodland Digital and MultiCam.

Advanced Outfitters – Dopp Kit 2.0

The Dopp Kit 2.0 from Advanced Outfitters is an excellent, ultralightweight organizer. It features three main zippered compartments with an additional zippered flat pocket on one side. I picked three up at Blade Show and use them as shaving kits for travel. The multiple colors let us know what belongs to who.

Colors available are Flat Dark Mud, Flat Dark Blood, Flat Dark Water, and “Nothing Flat or Dark About It” which is a Blaze Orange.

You might want to use these in different ways. Perhaps one could be used for signaling devices, one for first-aid and another for water purification. They are very well made and their utility is only limited by your imagination.

Skeletonized Bottle Holder from ITS Tactical Now Available

If you use Liberty Bottleworks bottles or other, similar bottles then you know that there isn’t currently a good way to carry them let alone something that is adaptable to a wide variety of belts and platforms. That is, until now.

First off, it’s Made in America. Second, it’s received a slight name change from the original. You see, the new Skeletonized Bottle Holder began its life as the Modular Skeletonized Container Sling. Designed and manufactured by ITS Tactical and Zulu Nylon Gear, we initially mentioned it during Summer OR when it was initially debuted, but now it’s available for purchase.

It incorporates a lightweight minimalist (2.7 oz!) design that features true one-handed operation, full adjustment to handle any container size and mounting to either MOLLE/PALS, or a standard belt.

The Skeletonized Bottle Holder features double-layer webbing as well as a HDPE stiffener for structure and support. They’ve also created a textured pull-tab for a non-slip grip with adjustable shock cord retention to facilitate one-handed container deployment and accommodate any bottle neck size.

The Skeletonized Bottle Holder features a fully-adjustable system in both width and height that can handle multiple container styles and diameters. Using the included PALS attachment system, it can be mounted virtually anywhere, including most any belt size with a simple configuration of the mounting strap.

A short list of compatible bottle designs include Liberty Bottles (both 32 oz and 20 oz), Nalgenes, Klean Kanteens, GI Canteens, Guinness Cans and even plastic water bottles. Available in MultiCam, Coyote Brown and Black.
