Elite Tactical XRS II Riflescope Helps Cooper Claim Tactical Division for PRS Season

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – November 5, 2020 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, served as title sponsor of the Precision Rifle Series (PRS) Southeast Regional Finale hosted by Alabama Precision. At the conclusion of the two-day match, Team Bushnell’s Mark Cooper and his Elite Tactical XRS II 4.5-30×50 riflescope once again stood victorious, winning the Tactical Division for the match and claiming the coveted Tactical Division championship for the entire season.

“It’s been a long but wonderful season and I know that I wouldn’t be here without the support of my family, friends and sponsors,” said Mark Cooper of Team Bushnell. “No one could have predicted the weather for the finale to be as bad as it was, but despite the cold and the rain it feels good to have accomplished a season long goal. Through it all, my Elite Tactical XRS II never failed me. The trust I have in this riflescope is unmatched and I don’t plan to shoot another match without it.”

The Bushnell Southeast Regional Finale took place under less than ideal conditions with a diverse course of fire challenging competitors and their gear. Throughout the match, competitors took on a multitude of barricades, moving targets and distances ranging out to 1,200 yards with the rain ending just as the last shots were fired.

“Alabama Precision was honored to host this year’s PRS Regional Finale sponsored by Bushnell,” said Jim Saunders, Match Director. “As the largest region, the southeast has some of the best competitors in the country. They were put through a true test with a challenging course of fire and equally challenging weather. Bushnell has supported the PRS for many years and has even bigger plans for the future with Elite Tactical. Thanks to Bushnell and the shooting community for a great Regional Finale.”

San Antonio, Texas (November 10, 2020) – J. P. Sauer & Sohn, Germany’s oldest manufacturer of hunting firearms, is pleased to introduce the ultralight S101 Highland XTC carbon-fiber rifle.  Weighing just 5.4 lbs. in the .308 Win version, this highly accurate bolt-action rifle is ideal for strenuous hunts when every ounce counts.

The S101 features a hand-laid, carbon-fiber stock with advanced recoil absorbing properties.  The barrel is fluted and threaded for additional weight reduction and cold-hammer forged for guaranteed precision of less than one MOA at 100 yards.  The barrel and receiver also feature Sauer’s Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) surface for maximum corrosion protection.

“The DLC layer is 40 times thinner than a human hair while offering key advantages such as superior surface hardness and maximum rust protection and wear resistance,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group.  “Many advances were made in the production of the Highland XTC, and it now holds the record as Sauer’s lightest rifle ever.”

Additional features include superb balance, a crisp match-grade trigger, fluted bolt, and Sauer’s Dura Safe direct firing pin safety which operates as an ergonomic slide on the bolt shroud for enhanced safety and optimum operation.  The Highland XTC consistently delivers precision and accuracy even under the most extreme climate conditions.

Rheinmetall to Supply Thermal Imaging Aiming Devices Worth €27 million for the Bundeswehr’s Marder IFVs

Tuesday, November 10th, 2020

Saphir 2.6 MK order is the latest in a series of moves to keep the vehicle fit to fight in future

The Bundeswehr has awarded Rheinmetall a further order aimed at extending the service life of the Marder infantry fighting vehicle. Following a recent appropriation of funds by the budget committee of the German Parliament, the Düsseldorf-based technology group has now booked a €27 million contract to this effect. The advanced Saphir 2.6 MK, developed by Rheinmetall Electronics, will replace existing obsolete thermal imaging aiming devices used for reconnaissance and target engagement.

A total of 260 equipment kits will be delivered in 2022 and 2023. The scope of delivery includes extra devices for stockpiling as well as related accessories for use by the troops.
Rheinmetall will be fabricating the thermal imaging aiming devices with the aid of numerous subcontractors entirely in Germany. To cite just one example, state-of-the-art components from the company AIM Infrarot-Module GmbH of Heilbronn – a Rheinmetall affiliate – will safeguard critical German defence technology expertise for the foreseeable future.

The Saphir 2.6 MK (MK: Marder configuration) was specially developed for the Marder IFV. The Bundeswehr and other armies already utilize the core technology on a large scale, meaning that it can soon be used in the Marder too. In turn, this will result in synergies with regard to procurement and operation.

Importantly, the latest Saphir 2.6 MK generation will significantly improve the observation range and round-the-clock reconnaissance quality. This has to do with the greater resolution of the detector, for example, and state-of-the-art display technology. Thanks to advanced image processing software from the Saphir family, full performance of the components is now assured under all operating conditions.

Together with integration of the MELLS multirole lightweight guided missile system and the new Marder driver’s night vision device, this innovative technology will result in substantial tactical advantages for troops deployed in harm’s way, both day and night.

German mechanized infantry units will still use the Marder for several more years. The armies of a number of other nations also continue to rely on this robust, battle-tested infantry fighting vehicle. For these users, too, the Saphir 2.6 MK is an important element in maintaining the vehicle’s combat readiness.

The woodshop is a part of the unique treatments offered at Warriors Heart, devoted to healing our Nations’ Military, Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMT personnel. There are many American flags on the market, but this flag was made by those who were sworn to protect it.

This wooden flag is made with 13 strips of wood and 50 individual stars. The time and effort put into it reflects just how important the American flag is to the men and women serving under it.

“This Flag is a symbol of our home and all we believe in and here…it also represents freedom from addiction,” stated Warriors Heart co-founder, Tom Spooner.

Participants can view the flag, as well as the rules on the Warriors Heart Auction site, which will provide them with a link for the auction raffle tickets itself. The foundation is driven solely through the donations of others, supporting programs that address the unmet needs of suffering servicemen and women and give individuals and communities the tools to become self-sufficient.

You can help make a difference in the lives of our warriors and their families, and this is just one way that you can serve those who have served you.
