Darley Defense Partners with Maddox Defense to Vaccinate The Bahamas

September 16th, 2021

Itasca, IL, September 16, 2021 – Darley Defense partnered with Maddox Defense, a tactical and medical gear company, to supply The Bahamas Ministry of Health, through the Bahamian Embassy, all of the supplies necessary to vaccinate the Bahamian residents. This included cryogenic freezers to keep 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine at the right temperature. These freezers, the most important supply to keep the vaccine from spoiling, had to be procured, shipped and passed through customs in eight days.

The process ran smoothly because a needs assessment was done remotely with hospital leadership, Maddox Defense and Darley’s subject matter expert prior to the purchase of supplies. The work model created between Darley Defense and Maddox Defense for this project continues to produce successful outcomes for all parties involved.

DSEI 21 – Colt M5 Carbine

September 16th, 2021

Colt, Colt Canada, and their new parent company CZ Group displayed a multitude of firearms at DSEi.

One of the weapons that caught my eye was the latest upgrade to the M4 Carbine, which Colt calls the M5. It features a completely redesigned lower receiver with full ambidextrous controls and a new upper receiver and rail design for increased rigidity, while retraining the ability to change rails, lost with a monolithic design.

Above you can see several variants.

The latest addition to the ambidextrous controls is a Bolt Catch at the right side of the Carbine which can be manipulated with fore finger or thumb.

The upper receiver has some upgrades as well. They’ve incorporated an anti-torsion lug to the upper, extending the front of the receiver. This facilitated a free float Barrel. Additionally, the Foreend is M-Lok compatible, with a Picatinny Mil Std 1913 Rail along the top.

The M5 Carbine is offered in 5.56 NATO, .300 BLK and 7.62 x 39. Barrel lengths vary depending on caliber. For instance, the 5.56 model is offered with 10.3″, 11.5″, 14.5″, 16.1″ and 20″ Barrels.

The M5 Carbine is also available in a Sub Compact Weapon configuration in 5.56mm with 10.3″ Barrel and .300 BLK with a 8.5″ and 10.5″ Barrel as well as a 9mm Sub Machine Gun with 9″ Barrel.

Introducing the TNVC EXCLUSIVE ECHO Arms CQBL Intergrated Light Mount (ILM)

September 16th, 2021

The ECHO Arms CQBL Integrated Light Mount (ILM) is a machined 6061 aluminum replacement body for all Surefire 3v Scout Lights and compatible tailcaps and heads with an integrated mount that allows it to be used with the Steiner eOptics CQBL-1 IR/VIS Laser Aiming Module by replacing the factory CQBL rail mounting bracket.

The low profile, one-piece body design closely hugs the CQBL-1, giving users a complete IR/VIS Aiming Laser and integrated weapon light – when combined with a dual spectrum light like the Surefire M3xxV family, the ECHO Arms CQBL ILM gives the user complete IR AIM/ILLUM and VIS AIM/White Light capabilities in a compact package that is less than 4.5″ long, 6.3″ wide, and 1.4″ tall, making it ideal for PDW, SMG, and PCC applications where rail space and accessory mounting and integration space is extremely limited.

Made exclusively for TNVC, the ECHO Arms CQBL ILM is available in both Black and Tan anodized finishes and includes a replacement mounting screw to install the light mount.

For a LIMITED TIME ONLY, TNVC is offering specially priced CQBL ILM Bundles including a Steiner eOptics CQBL-1 laser system and Surefire M300V Dual Spectrum Vampire Light, starting at $1,229.80 – a savings of almost $300 from MSRP, and available in both Black and Tan.

The bundle package provides users with a COMPLETE, full-service IR/Visible Accessory suite for smaller weapons with a 250 lumen White Light and Red Visible Aiming Laser and 100 mW IR illuminator and 0.7 mW IR aiming laser for less than the cost of most Multi-Function Aiming Lasers in a much more compact package.

Milrem Robotics to Develop the Nordic Robotic Wingman With Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace

September 16th, 2021

The leading European robotics and autonomous systems developer Milrem Robotics is to develop a new Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) named Nordic Robotic Wingman in cooperation with the leading technology and defence supplier, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG).

The Nordic Robotic Wingman will be based on Milrem Robotics’ state of the art Type-X RCV and KONGSBERG’s latest and best PROTECTOR Remote Turrets (RT) that will be chosen specifically to meet the particular needs of various end-users.

The first Nordic Robotic Wingman concept will be exhibited at DSEI 2021 in London.

“Milrem Robotics and KONGSBERG have agreed to jointly continue the development of the Type-X RCV by integrating KONGSBERG’s systems to address the requirements of many countries interested in this type of technology, especially the Nordics and Western Europe, but also the US,” said Sverker Svärdby, Managing Director of Milrem Robotics’ Sweden. “Combining our knowledge of robotic combat vehicles and KONGSBERG’s wide range of systems and extensive expertise in defence systems development, we are capable of providing world-class systems based on customer needs,” Svärdby added.

The Type-X provides equal or overmatching firepower and tactical usage to a unit equipped with Infantry Fighting vehicles and gives mechanized units the means to breach enemy defensive positions with minimal risk to own troops. It can be fitted with a cannon up to 50 mm, anti-tank missiles and a tethered drone for continuous situational awareness.

“KONGSBERG has a family of unmanned PROTECTOR Remote Weapon Systems, ranging from the smallest RS2 Remote Weapon Station to the true Infantry Fighting Vehicle turret RT60 with Anti-Tank Guided Missile capability. The systems have a common software baseline, are easy to integrate and provide proven capabilities for the warfighter. KONGSBERG’s solution provides the operator with situational awareness and a safe and secure network-based fire control that is fielded with the Norwegian Army and in delivery to the US Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle program,” said Arne Gjennestad, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, KONGSBERG.

Milrem Robotics’ Type-X is equipped with intelligent functions such as follow-me, waypoint navigation and obstacle detection with Artificial Intelligence being part of the algorithms. With the Type-X Milrem Robotics also introduces a feature called Indirect Drive that allows remote controlled operations on higher speeds.

Milrem Robotics is the European leading robotics and autonomous systems developer and systems integrator with offices in Estonia, Sweden, Finland and shortly in the Netherlands.

The company leads the iMUGS Consortium that was awarded 30,6 MEUR from the European Commission’s European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP) to develop a European standardized unmanned ground system (UGS).

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is a leading supplier of defence products and systems for command and control, surveillance, space, tactical communications, remote weapon stations and missiles, as well as advanced composites, engineering products and repair and overhaul services for aircraft and helicopters.
