SIG Sauer – MPX FAQ: GEN 1 Vs. GEN 2

January 5th, 2016

SIG Sauer recently published this video detailing the differences between the GEN 1 and GEN 2 MPX. The major difference between the models is the GEN 1 is 9mm only, and the GEN 2 is configured to take advantage of the multi-caliber exchange system. SIG will be offering a GEN 2 upper receiver at a discounted cost to GEN 1 owners for those who still have the GEN 1 but wish to take advantage of the caliber exchange system. Watch the video to see the further changes and differences between the two models.

What President Obama’s Anti-Gun Executive Actions Will Look Like

January 5th, 2016

These are the executive actions President Obama plans to announce on the morning of Tuesday, 5 January, 2016 to “reduce gun violence and make our communities safer.”

Just a couple of comments off the top of my head.

Despite rumors that an actual number of transactions was going to be adopted to define “engaged in the business” of selling firearms, President Obama didn’t do it.  So nothing materially changes.  Status Quo.  Instead, it’s just a short lived opportunity for rhetoric.  This was supposed to be his anchor; closing that mythical “gun show loophole” and he couldn’t even make that happen.  With one exception (see below), this whole package doesn’t do anything.

Looks like they are going to push 41P through; an interesting new take on the White House as “trust buster.”  Considering the sheer number of trusts in the United States that concern all sorts of business (aside from owning NFA weapons) and how this precedent will affect those, I’m still unsure whether this new intrusiveness is even legal.  But I’m not a lawyer.

Additionally, I’d hate to see be the guy who has to write those reports on how the government is going to pour money into “smart” gun technology.  Of course, a smart PM can always figure out a way to make an earmark useful.

The Salomon Forces Speed Assault is completely new and essentially a Mid height version of the popular Speedcross. They don’t even have this new shoe on the commercial side yet. I’ve been wearing a pair for several months and I really like them. Easy to done and doff but none of the issues with dirt and debris entering the shoe like on the low models. latest iteration of the Speed model within the Forces line. It is a low-profile shoe, with a 6mm heel to toe drop and an EVA shaped footbed.

Toundra Pro CSWP

If you’re interested in extreme cold weather boots, then Forces has you covered with the Toundra Pro CSWP. The Toundra Pro CSWP is the replacement for the Toundra Mid CSWP starting July 2016. It’s rated to -40, which is where Celsius and Fahrenheit overlap.

Keep checking for additional info on each of these models.

(FORT SMITH, Ark.) – New to the Walther line of personal protection pistols is the PPS M2, an innovative new 9mm pistol that sets the bar for ergonomics and comfort for concealed carry. The new PPS M2 is engineered for the concealed carry shooter looking for a slim 9mm that provides superior concealability while maintaining comfort and accuracy. The new PPS M2 is built to carry, measuring in at 1 inch wide, low profile and smooth features. This coupled with a new push button style magazine release for easy operation, highlights some of the changes from the Classic PPS to the new M2.

The new PPS M2 is equipped with a smooth, light 6.1 lb trigger pull, which improves control and accuracy. The PPS M2 can be the perfect fit for every shooter with Carl Walther signature ergonomics, that have become a staple in 21st Century Walther Arms. The PPS M2 is also available in an LE edition with phosphoric sights.

Adam Blalock, Walther Arms CEO stated, “I have been really excited about the PPS M2 since the beginning of its development. The PPS Classic has been my everyday carry gun for years. The engineering enhancements and modifications that create the new M2 truly elevate this pistol into a class of its own.”

Adding the PPS M2 to the Walther handgun line is a prime example of Walther’s dedication to continued innovation and customer focus in the fast growing personal protection industry. The PPS M2 will be available in retail stores in early 2016. It will also be available to test at Industry Day at the Range at SHOT Show and viewing on the showroom floor during the show in Las Vegas, NV January 18th – 22nd.
