ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 4, 2021 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems, today announced it was awarded a firm-fixed-price contract on Sept. 28, 2021 by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for $20,321,973 for the procurement of Switchblade® 600 tactical missile systems (TMS). Delivery is scheduled to be completed by January 2023.

Rheinmetall Submits Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle Best and Final Offer for Land 400 Phase 3 in Australia Showcasing Leading Capability and Sovereign Military Industrial Growth

Rheinmetall, the largest supplier of military vehicles to the Australian Defence Force has submitted the company’s Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) best and final offer for the Australian Department of Defence Land 400 Phase 3 Mounted Close Combat Capability tender. Rheinmetall is one of two competing companies involved in the tender for this procurement project.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia Managing Director, Gary Stewart said the Lynx is a next generation tracked, digitised and highly protected Infantry Fighting Vehicle and offers a step-change in Army’s capabilities.

“Lynx sets the new standard and offers unmatched levels of survivability, mobility, lethality, knowledge and growth. Importantly, Lynx is ready to protect Australians in the field and defeat any adversary. Lynx is fitted with the Rheinmetall Lance turret for precise and lethal effects and offers an integrated battle management system.

“Designed for close combat operations, the extensive family of Lynx vehicles is modular. Lynx can be easily configured and reconfigured, to all 10 roles required by the Army.

Rheinmetall has developed the Lynx with a growth path to meet continually evolving military needs throughout its anticipated 40 year life.

Submitting the best and final offer represents the final deliverable of the two year Risk Management Activity (RMA) undertaken by the Department of Defence. Involving 12 months of rigorous testing by Army, Rheinmetall has been impressed with the professional and flexible approach taken by Defence in response to COVID.

“The fact that Army and Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group has completed perhaps the most comprehensive testing in the world of these IFVs is outstanding” said Mr Stewart.

“The testing and associated working group discussions have mitigated a number of risks, confirmed vehicle and company performance, and improved the access for more Australian companies to be involved in this program.

Mr. Stewart said that the company’s offer also included a “special project” that was sure to pique the interest of not only the Australian Defence Force, but international export markets as well.

“Incorporating a great deal of engineering design and innovation, I am very much looking forward to unveiling the Rheinmetall special project”, he added.

Mr. Stewart said that Rheinmetall’s demonstrated commitment to Australian Industry Capability (AIC) through the Land 121 and Land 400 Phase 2 programs will continue to expand for the Lynx program.

“The Lynx’s Lance turret; already in manufacture for the Australian Boxer CRV program and an export customer, provides high degrees of commonality and interoperability for the soldier. Galvion Wins $5.8 million Contract to Supply US Army with EOD Tools and Equipment Kit (ETEK)

U.S. Army Awards AeroVironment $11.7 Million Third and Final Contract Option for Raven Radio Frequency Modifications Under Existing FCS Contract

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 6, 2021 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems, today announced the United States Army exercised the third and final option under the Flight Control Systems (FCS) domain of the Army’s multi-year small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) contract on Sept. 9, 2021. The value of the contract option is $11,731,740 and includes flight control system kits, ground control stations and tail booms for the Army’s existing fleet of Raven® tactical UAS. Delivery is scheduled to be completed by September 2022.

The contract option was exercised under the Army’s FCS domain awarded to AeroVironment in June 2019 and announced in November 2019 – the first of six domains comprising the Army’s existing five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) SUAS contract – bringing the total final value of contract to $54,632,776.

U.S. Marine Corps Awards Production Contract to KONGSBERG for C-UAS Capability

Significant Milestone for Ground Based Air Defense

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. – Oct. 5, 2021 – The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) has awarded a production contract to Kongsberg Protech Systems USA to deliver remote weapon systems (RWS) as part of the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS) program. The indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a ceiling of $94 million and includes a series of Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) systems and full-rate production units. This production contract award follows a Sept. 2020 contract award from the USMC to KONGSBERG for test articles and activities, which included Design Verification Testing (DVT).

The KONGSBERG RS6 RWS for MADIS leverages technology and competence drawn from multiple counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) and air defense programs. The system leverages commonality with the family of PROTECTOR RWS delivered and fielded with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps and will be integrated on the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) together with external sensors and effectors.

The first 30mm remote weapon system to be qualified on the JLTV platform, the KONGSBERG RS6 RWS for MADIS RWS includes the XM914E1 30mmx113mm DC driven cannon with a co-axial M240 (7.62mm) machine gun, an integration kit for the Stinger Air-To-Air Launcher (ATAL) and provisions for future C-UAS defeat systems.

Revision Awarded Contract to Supply Prescription Carriers to U.S. Troops

Essex Junction, Vermont (September 30, 2021) – Revision Military has been awarded a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply Universal Prescription Lens Carriers (UPLC) over the next five years. The contract, issued by DLA Troop Support, has an estimated value of up to $37.5 million, began on September 17, 2021 and is for one three-year base period and two one-year option periods. Revision has been the incumbent supplier of the UPLC to DLA since 2013, when the U.S. Army moved to a single prescription carrier solution for all Rx-capable eyewear on the Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL). The customizable UPLC allows for an individual prescription to be filled into the carrier by an optometrist, and the carrier fits securely behind the standard lens of their ballistic eyewear.
